Hi.

As far as I was aware the CNC case was ordered around 2nd/3rd February, and we were expecting it within a couple of weeks time (which hopefully means next week). Have searched on forum and haven't found any news on it since the 3rd Feb. Have I missed anything? If not, any news you can tell us Openpandora team? :)

Great, you didn't ask him about the keymats. You do know we are only allowed one question a fortnight, right?

That depends on a few parts which are running late, it's hard to know because of that.

As they say all of the time in the games industry:

"Comming soon"

Would it be possible to get a new estimated roadmap by the latest Feb 27th?

Just general ideas so we could all get an idea of where we are. I'm also very interested in hearing good news with orders through bank transfer and check/MO.

So you reached a consensus on keymats?
Making the mold is separate from printing the letters on the surface. They've still got time to finalize the layout.

everything. We've been told the keymats are in mass production but don't have them all yet, the boards are going into mass production, and the case hasn't even been started yet. I think the only thing they have completely is the screens, and that's only because they come from a 3rd party :p

2 Weeks for a CNC Case... is this good or bad? \^_\^ And when the Case doesn't fit, does this mean another 2 weeks and so on?
Hmm... when the phrase "time is money" is true, then the Pandora will be a very very expencive produced piece of Hardware I think. ;)

I thought someone said all the parts were in too. By parts I don't mean PCBs etc, but all the components.

What about the Power supplies? With all the different destinations with their differing voltages and plug types, is it going to be some universal device or one specific to each zone?

Recently it seems power supplies frequently are made to run 100-240VAC or thereabouts, which should cover most countries. Maybe toss in some plug adapters and you're good to go. Power supplies are the easy part. Maybe they'll just order a bunch from Sony.

Like the PSP charger, I imagine the Pandora charger will use a standard figure 8 adapter. It'd be cake to simply replace the cable then. I've little doubt that any computer store worth it's salt would have the right replacement cable for cheap. This is at least true in North America and the UK, but see no reason for it to not be true elsewhere. It's an international standard.

Honestly if theres any problems with procuring (or fears of how it will work) any adapters necessary for where you live, you could just use the localized completely compatible PSP adapter, which should also be fairly easy to acquire cheaply.

As long as we are not reading the definition of soon from the same dictionary 3D Realms uses :p
