Never really thought about this but my Desktop, Notebook, etc. really only contain the data I need for working, development, etc.

My Desktop also has a bunch of games...

But the computer that holds my personal data, schedules, emails, and so on really is my Android Smartphone...

Though I tried it after I used Linux, so all I saw was Gnome2 on top of a system with configuration files in slightly different places, which made me sad. That's also why I stay away from the Red Hat type distributions (CentOS, Fedora (Beefy Miracle!), etc.) and stick to Debian type distributions.

I have similar issues, but in reverse... the slight differences in configuration files and such is why I've always stuck with the Red Hat, CentOS camp and never got into the Debian style distributions. I never bought into the Red Hat is the establishment and Debian is cool and hip hype... it's just F*ing linux no matter what we use.
