What Computer Should I Get?

Ya, now is one of those wait a month or two times.

Sorta like when I bought my laptop, it was top of the line, 1 month later PCI Express x 16 was invented :( lol.

Dell monitors suck? Are you insane? Dell LCDs are some of the best on the market. The only people who even have a chance of competing with them are Apple and LG.

Their refresh rates are pitaful. Plus I notice ghosting on some of their high end models.
Those two problems are interrelated, and only afflict a small percentage of their monitors. There's a simple way to fix that problem, and is something that anyone spending $2000 on a monitor should be doing: view and use the monitor in person before buying it!

To end this argument
dell dont make monitors, they just slap thier logo on
youl find that their monitors are most likely the same as many other monitors.
Only difference is they have a different casing and logo

Dell monitors are very good. I have one of the very low-end ones on my incredibly low-end laptop. It's amazing.

that's amazing but not really helping me

I would like a reasonably priced 24-30 incher (still undedided) that is GOOD quality and will last.

Dell 2405 if buying today. (24 inches + new on eBay for about $700)
It uses the same panel as Apple's 24 incher, but with more input options.

Dell 2407 if buying in a month or two. (24 inches, about $950)
Not technically better than the 2405 except for a copy protected HD port.

See my post above for more. :D

Check out this image to get a idea of the image quality on the 2405.
