What have you bought recently?

I accidently bought 2 Swiss Army Knives: one Victorinox Delemont Collections EvoGrip S17 but I was disappointed as the tool where too stuck to fold out (broke some nails) and this black Victorinox Huntsman which is now my EDC SAK..

I use a google pixel 2. it's 7 years old and crashes at crucial moments but it works for my basic needs and i don't know what to replace it with. everyone always asks me why i don't have an iphone. well, i find ios/ipad extremely clunky. too many button presses to do basic things. apple have always sucked at software. if push comes to shove i'd probably get a middle-of-the-line samsung. i once had a samsung and i could do almost everything with my thumb, just using one hand. that was nice. can't do that with the pixel. we regressed.

A grow tent and a 300 Watts horticulture LED fixture. Also a bunch of seeds.
Still have to get a fan, and a zigbee sensor for temperature and humidity.
Might choose a fan with 0-10V dimming and try to control it via ESP-Home and DIY level switcher (is that the right term?) circuitry.
But just toggling on and off via smart plug might be good enough.

Nice! Hydroponic?

I went to Whitby Goth Weekend today and ended up buying a new bag (it comes with a long strap so you can also use it as a cross body bag). Some cheap (£10) round sunglasses with orange to yellow gradient lenses. I'd left my other sunglasses at home because I thought it was going to rain however it was blazing sunshine all day. I also got a couple of marzipan bars which are blocks of marzipan coated in chocolate.

Pre-ordered an EXP-r with the Tomb Raider cartridge.

CC - I'm almost totally original hardware for most systems and only really just dipping my toe back into homebrew/emulation - Evercade and Mister have happened in the interim but I'm lost trying to understand them. Is there a good Evercade resource I should watch?

I'm not sure, to be honest. I'd completely missed how popular apparently Evercade had become, and there's a few models (and variations) from Gameboy to PSP and NES-esque consoles, that are all (mostly*) compatible with the same cartridges

Due to some good licensing, and the nostalgia and convenience of collecting actual hardware (cartridges that are guaranteed to work and optimised for the hardware, rather than faffing with emulation), it seems they hit a popular niche.

They're also building up on a community of collectors, and the fact that all the cases have manuals and are numbered and colour coded adds to that (must collect them all) compulsion for some collectors.

* I'm not sure, but there may be licensing affecting one or two cartridges, and the tiny handheld console they have is impractical for "Tate" (vertical) games due to screen size.
