The skinability is great. Patch the XP theme dll file to accept any 'style'/skin, and you can make it look like a Macintosh etc. without a) paying or B) using WindowBlinds, which runs on top of the API and is slow/buggy.
XP loads for me in about 13 seconds, but 2k is of course a server OS so the PCs aren't designed to be turned on and off much.
XP has no real DRM in it that is activated. Anything like 'this certificate isn't digitally signed, ie. the developer hasn't given Microsoft a wad of cash' can be bypassed, and many things I've bought, like my printer and camera, simply tell the user to bypass the warning as if it means nothing
I don't see the point of running a server OS for home usage. XP has increased compatiblity and crashes about as often (i.e. no very often). Of course I prefer Debian over both of them, but never mind
