What are you playing this weekend/these days?

Streets of Rogue is going on my wish list, sounds like my jam.
no no no, it's the other button you must press !!
It's on sale, it's like 5€, take also the DLC with additional characters, them are really unique (and seems impossible considering the already long list of characters in the main game !!)
Also, it's like 300 MB, so you can start playing almost immediately to take your fix !!

So, since I started again speaking of it, I'll list other cool things about the game:
- there is an autosave after every level, that could be finished in 5/10 minutes (depending on the difficulty/randomness), so it could be played even to occupy some little free time holes
- the SEED used to generate levels is visible, so you can use it to replay/retry the exact situation as before
- there are "legal cheats" included in the game, called "Mutators", here you can activate "Continue", and add or remove a lot of difficulty settings (too much to list !!), anyway I still didn't used them, the default situation seems pretty much acceptable for me.

I tried to play with the "Investment Banker" character, it starts with a lot of money and can receive loans from every store, but is addicted to drugs (EVERY DRUG), so it must be constantly high or at some point it will start to lose health !! For now is the most difficult character I used.

The "Mech Pilot" instead is super powerful !! The Mech has a laser cannon with infinite ammo (with only a time-out for recharge), and there's the cool idea that it is too big to enter doors, so you must always exit from it... unless you find a way to make people go out of the building shooting from the windows, or destroying walls... it also has a health bar separated from the pilot, it uses Oil to be repaired, while the pilot uses food. The mission of this character is to kill bad and well armed people, so it's a total war play !! And since you are actually cleaning the town from people that are too much untouchable from the law, the police ignores your acts of violence !! This is the one that made me go the most far in the game.

Just finished Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. Most mission now have you choose between two characters. One is the dual pistols and dynamite guy who can kick down the occoasional door, the other is better with rifles, can climb, use a whip like Indiana Jones and gets throwing knives and a bow. So far I've only seen a single spot in which sneaking was forced. The rest of the game the enemies know where you are all of the time. Most of the time these two brothers fight side by side, breaching doors together, covering each other while bantering. Sometimes their paths diverge and you're on your own for a little while.
There is now auto-recharging health. Not sure how I feel about that. I guess it saves me backtracking to leftover health packs. There is now a lot of secrets, around 90. I only found a third, they're well hidden.
The visuals are alright as long as there are no explosives around. The blur and screen shake effects are entirely too strong. In addition to that enemies can be hard to spot, they often blend in with the surroundings of the great outdoors.
You again get to play a few smaller side quests in 2 or 3 larger areas in order to earn money. That you spend in weapon shops on boom sticks of increasingly good quality. In the shop you can compare weapon stats. I would have liked a hotkey for that in the field, would have been nice for a first time player.
I quite like the new cover mechanic that allows you to aim around or over objects as far as you like according to mouse input. Cover is also entered automatically, no button press necessary. This is more realistic than the digital on/off-cover systems in other games.
There are a lot of cut scenes now and much more dialog, and even more of the latter is unlocked by collecting the secrets, which is a nice touch. I liked the story, the characters are all believable. Good game, looking forward to the third.

GTA 5 (Steamdeck) I’m now on the part of the Story where Franklin and Michael destroyed a House because they thought it’s from the Tennis Couch which is cheating on Michaels Wife, and they gets trouble whit a Gang Leader ^^
I also found on the Internet a way to get some extra Cash by Diving to a Suitcase, Save and Reload the Game.. and had some fun whit the Directors Mode, it’s a good way to make some trouble and to try some stuff like flying the Fighter Jets from the Fort or other stuff ..

Then I played some Streets of Roque on Steamdeck, quite funny game, maybe a bit difficult to understand what you have to due but I like the Humor and the Artstyle.. it’s a bit like Retro City Rampage or Binding of Issac but different ..

I'm sorry, but I have to continue the tale of Streets of Rogue !!
It's so genuinely cured that I'm constantly amazed with everything I try.

I played with the "Bouncer" character, it's very strong in every way, but his mission is to protect a young musician. So, I was expecting to just have a follower around that shouldn't be killed... NO WAY !!!
This musician sometimes insists to go somewhere and you'll have to escort him... most of the time when he buys things, he will give something to you too... luckily not when he needs to go to the bathroom xD
Sometimes he goes away and you must run to him because your electrified jacket removes health if you are too distant from him.
Also when you go around the city, some people will shout "OMG !! ITS HIM !!! I'M A HUGE FAN !!!" and they start follow the musician, so at some point you go around with a crowd of people behind !! xD

Thanks to my run with the "Doctor" character, that I used to chloroform half the map (and so technically I didn't kill anyone), I was able to unlock the "Assassin" !!

So I tried the "Assassin", and at the beginning it wasn't so obvious to me ho to use it... with the Doctor I was just going behind people to chloroform them, so I was expecting the same with the Assassin, just with a blade... then I found out the real utility of its perk, the "camouflage" !! While you are camouflaged, you can backstab people with a 10X the normal damage, and while normally an hit will reveal you, a precise backstab will maintain you invisible to others !!
This is useful since its mission is to kill a person in every level, but without being seen... and that person is ALWAYS in a group !! So with a precise backstab while camouflaged, you can kill that person and run away clean !!

I had also super fun with the "Shapeshifter", than can enter in other people body, and his mission is to send people one against the other.
If the possessed body is killed you still have your own to possess someone else, but if someone sees you during the act, you'll become a target... also in your normal form you are the most wanted for the Police.
It gives a very different way to play the game, while on "retrieving" missions to get something from someone, with the other characters you have to kill/bribe/steal from the person... with this instead you just possess someone in the same group, and go there asking for the stuff... "NO PROBLEM PAL !! TAKE IT !!"

Finished a run in Streets of Rogue as the Slum Dweller. That was my first run past the industrial zone, suddenly all the pieces fell into place. Two ammo perks, UZI with silencer and extended mag, rocket launcher, a total of 3 body armors did a lot of the work. Unlocked Werewolf, Jock and Comedian among others.

Most important lesson I've taken away: Hit F to quickly heal.
Also useful: "bullet time" by switching weapons via mousewheel.
And you should watch the tracks before crossing.

Although I also have Streets of Roque I played in the last few days of my Winter Vaccation a lot Euro Truck Simulator 2 on Steamdeck :
Even thought whe are an Mercedes Familie (GLK and Unimog) i decide to have a DAF as my own Semi Truck, it’s not bad at all, and brought me a lot of km around Europe, the Great Britain Island and the Balkans .. but I bought now a bigger DAF whit 3 Achsels and it’s much more powerful , only issue now is that I took quite some credits to buy it and other than my old Truck, it’s dosnt have Camera Side Mirrors , and no Onboard Navi .. and the Speed is not shown on the Display only on the Tacho which makes it much more difficult to read in Handheld Mode now I try to pay my credit depts back: I have a plan allready : Even if the fees are a bit higher for 50.000 € Credit than for 100.000 € (20 % vs 18 %) I used these to get the Rates a bit smaller so I can pay them back faster ..
my plan is now to play till Level 14, pay back my Credit and then look for the Upgrades that are available ..
plays great on Steamdeck, even if some measures on the Instruments are a bit difficult to read on this “small” Display, but I have the GUI Navi which tells me how fast and where I have to drive ..
Controlls are also good when you use Community Layouts, I have a Controll Mode where the Gears are on Shoulderbuttons, and for a reason I don’t know the horn button is connect to the air horn, I instead of the small truck horn ^^ the only thing that is a bit annoying for me is that turn signals are on the bottom buttons ..
as far as I payed my depts and upgraded this truck complietly I think I will buy a few more and get some drivers employed .. ^^

I was going to joke that there’s no PS5 version, but as it turns out, there is a PS5 version. Wishlisted, but I’ll wait for a sale.

Edit: Actually, I’m interested enough to summon @matzesu for an expert opinion on how well this game captures the experience of raising bees. It’s Steam Deck compatible. I don’t mind if you wait for a sale though.

well there is a new Map generator released called Teragon for the game 7 days to die. so i have been playing around with real world height maps to create custom maps for the game.more fun than the game some days..getting cities and POI's to populate in roughly the areas i want is fun and frustrating..

The author of the software said the generator wasnt meant for 7DTD but adapted it.. wonder what game it was meant for? or was it just a generic map making software? doesent matter really.
I also made a map using a map of Ireland.

Played a bit more Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland on GBA (Analogue Pocket)
Seems like now its getting a bit more difficult as i thought, im now in World 4, ...
Still a nice Game, and im looking forward for the next Kirbys in this Projekt (Funpack DS, Tribble Deluxe, Planet Robobot, Return to Dreamland), at least the Bosses are much more different than them from Super Mario Bros 3 which where just variants of the Boss bevor..

And i dit a quick Testrun of New Super Mario Bros DS, just to check if its playable after these 2 Months of Gameboy..
Its first ditnt reconice the DS Game in my New 2DSXL, but after i put it out and blow a bit over the Contacts it continued to work..
The Circle Pad feels a bit strange but maybe its because i ditnt played much on this System since i got the Switch..
To have a workaround for this save System i dont understand yet, i think i will just close the 3DS when i not play..
