I would be very surprised if the stats would make any significant upwards change at this point.
Most of the more loyal customers ordered within the first few weeks and without any significant progress we can only expect the impulse buyers to leave.
I think you have a narrower definition of "loyalty" to me.
"She will be mine. Oh yes, she will be mine"
There will be more orders when there's more positive news, and when they start getting shipped, reviewed, and blogged about, there will be many more, I'm sure.
As I said in my last post here, I didn't jump on the Pandora train until I saw real units doing good stuff that I would enjoy doing and playing. We've still not really seen that with the Pyra, plus I guess a good few people aren't willing to preorder stuff at this stage, and would rather wait until they can get it from stock. That latter category may happen after I stop doing these reports, because the raw stats might be difficult to track when there's weekly drops of new units and random sales.
So yeah, maybe preorders will never reach say 1.3k before production starts, I guess I'd agree on that. I'm just arguing against the idea (implied by me, probably) that's that all ED will ever sell.

Whoops, looks like I forgot to update last week. Luckily, not that much has happened in that time.
On the first Tuesday, we started off with a cancellation of a non-cellular 4GB unit, then on Wednesday lunchtime German time things kicked off somewhat with a simultaneous cancellation of a US cellular 4GB unit and a pledge towards a standard non-cellular 4GB unit at the same time*, then the next moment, pledges towards two more 4GB US cellular units. Then on Friday lunchtime a pre-order for a EU 4GB unit landed.
As for week 74, it was just straight up EU 4GB units all round; one on Sunday afternoon; one Wednesday night/Thursday morning; one Saturday afternoon. Bam bam bam!
As above, the week 73 preorders were split as follows:
Non-cellular units: no change (-1+1 4GB units)
US cellular units: +1 4GB unit (-1+2)
Euro cellular units: +1 4GB units
And week 74 is quick enough to summarise
Euro cellular units: +3 4GB units
Everything else: no change
Getting +5 units over the course of the past two weeks isn't too bad, especially given current achievements when it comes to fixing the 4GB RAM problem. If ED does offer 4GB preorderers a 2GB unit in exchange for earlier delivery it should mean less people pre-ordering 4GB units, and if ED stops offering 4GB units to preorder it would probably be for the best for now, but it would make tracking those stats difficult - although I guess if he just marks that page as sold out it won't break the tracking immediately, but unless he cancels 4GB preorders and preorders 2GB units for people, the stats will have drifted from actual reality. I guess there are three types of people; those who are happy to switch to a 2GB unit with the promise of a reduced upgrade in the future, those who want to stick to 4GB and will wait until that happens, and those who just cancel for now if they can't get what they want when others are getting theirs. I guess ED doesn't need to distinguish between switchers and stickers on the 4GB stats pages, and just tell us the numbers whenever he gets to make a news story, but it would be marginally nicer if we could live track this like we can all the other stats.

I'm not sure why the dedup'ed stats didn't show the 20/09 12:00PM time. It normally shows the moment before any change, so it ends up duplicating the last result in all but date and time, but this time it went straight from the day before's result to the 12:15 data after the first cancellation and pre-order, then showed the 12:30 with the extra two US preorders. It gave me a double take, because as I say normally it effectively duplicates each change, but it didn't actually miss anything.
I found out about the Pandora while WWILFing. I talk about the device as often as I can. My 5 minutes hardware key-features speech usually turns into a 30 minutes all possible usages one. Never had any ordering feedback though, so I guess my talkings are pretty useless, but it doesn't weaken my enthousiasm.
To me, the Pyra has no equivalent. I guess orderers drawn to the same conclusions..
You never know. If you mention it to someone, even if it isn't something that person would buy, they might mention it to someone else that it is a better match for. Plus, the more people that hear about it the better the chance that the people looking for exactly this sort of thing will find it.
Okay, looks like we can cancel the progress made last week. The only action was on Friday night when first one EU 4GB unit preorder was cancelled, and the other two came shortly afterwards (same unit type).
As above, the preorders were split as follows:
Non-cellular units: no change
US cellular units: no change
Euro cellular units: -3 4GB units
Dunno if that's the result of no public news of progress fixing the 4GB issue or what, and it predates the good news about cases (hopefully to be confirmed next week). But it's a shame we've nothing to show for the positive direction the project is currently heading in.
Bit more news this week, and it kicked off promptly on Sunday lunchtime with an EU *2*GB unit being preordered, and a standard, non-cellular 4GB one shortly afterwards. Later that night, a 4GB EU cellular version was preordered as well. However, on Thursday night two standard 4GB unit preorders were cancelled, and only one of those was replaced by a 4GB EU cellular verson on Friday evening.
As above, the preorders were split as follows:
Non-cellular units: -1 4GB unit (+1-2)
US cellular units: no change
Euro cellular units: +3 units (+1 2GB, +2 4GB)
That marks the first preorder of a 2GB unit since August, with 26 now standing as being preordered (14 non-cellular, 3 US cellular and 9 EU cellular). That's still nothing as compared to the 1068 4GB units, but perhaps every little helps make ED's life easier.
Also, this is the same total as of ten weeks ago. At least we're not going backwards overall I guess.
This is my very first post, happy indeed to be part of this big family ;-)
I'd like to know how do I know my preorder number, because I don't see it in order status (I have 2 options, considering these statistics).
There's no fixed numbering, order numbers are just random identifiers for the system. If you want to know your position in the line just estimate: if you bought this week then you're probably 1093.
Although presumably every time someone cancels on below you, that order number may well go down also, and just at the moment anyone that cancels is likely to be below you in the order sequence. That's assuming that's how order numbers will work - alternatively if it just logs everyone even if they've cancelled you may be a few dozen higher than 1093 instead.
I see the same orders number than 7 weeks ago.
In the mean time, Librem 5 got 2428 units pledged in less than two months™.
I know their campaign was more advertised but I am sadness.
I hope the Pyra campagins to come will explode all highscores.
Apologies for not posting this sooner. There's no much to report, but there was a US 4G cellular unit with 4GB of RAM pre-ordered on Sunday night, and a EU 4G 4GB unit preordered on Monday afternoon.
As above, the preorders were split as follows:
Non-cellular units: no change
US cellular units: +1 4GB unit
Euro cellular units: +1 4GB unit
That's basically a repeat of week 70, going by the totals at start and end. Still, at least it's positive movement, which is better than what I now see coming for next week's report, where there's a fairly substantial cancellation of 4GB units in all of US, EU and non-cellular categories. Still the weekend to go, where we usually get more positive preorders though, and maybe people are cancelling 4GB units to go for 2GB ones you never know!
Unfortunately it's now back down to 1090, which is what it was at 9 weeks age - ie 2 months ago. It's now looking like there is a significant chance backer numbers will start trending down.
Once it launches , hopefully people start jumping in and purchasing one. I think ED needs to sell an addiitional 2000+ just to pay off investors etc. ie before he even starts making a profit
On Wednesday night, the latest 2GB preorder came in for a EU cellular 2GB unit. But at the same time, last week's foreshadowed cancellations kicked in, and 4 EU 4GB unit preorders were cancelled, then 2 US 4GB unit preorders were lost, and finally one non-cellular preorder bit the dust, all in short order. a preorder for a 4GB EU cellular unit came in on Friday morning.
As above, the preorders were split as follows:
Non-cellular units: -1 4GB unit
US cellular units: -2 4GB units
Euro cellular units: -2 units (4GB -4+1, 2GB +1)
Looks like for the past 7 weeks, ED has been processing cancellations every three weeks. This -5 does mean that we've made no actual progress in the past three weeks. But from a longer lens we've been bobbling around 1090+ for the past two months.
Well, between the numbers image thread and this thread, I hope we've been a part in at least ensuring there's something to look at in the gaps between official news posts.
