WebSynth D-77 made by FAITH,INC. is a software synthesizer that was bundled with some computers and sound cards. There's an article about it on Wikipedia (in japanese).

This is a Linux version (ALSA MIDI sequencer interface) based on disassembled Windows driver.

The original data file (dswebWDM.dat) is required, which the application can download.

There appears to not only be an article on Japanese Wikipedia, but also a low-quality video on the Japanese youtube-like Nicovideo: https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm19363081
With an original Japanese comment about this tool, translated by Google Translate (well, who knows how accurate that is):
> The "Websynth D-77" is a product that allows the dedicated software MIDI sound source "WebSynth" that came with Onkyo's SE-70 sound board to be used with general boards made by other companies. We have prepared a sample of what was played on Websynth. When Websynth was first announced, as the name suggests, it was advertised as "a function that allows users to download sounds from the web and customize them to their liking (DLS)".Although the package states that it will be "supported in the future", it was disappointingly not even implemented in the end.The sounds were also hit or miss, and I only remember it being very difficult to use.If you carefully choose the sounds, they will play properly.
