My idea is something like that of a ball point pen you write with ,you click it down to release the tip.

Ah, you mean [strike]erect nipples[/strike] retractable nubs? They would have to be connected to the hinge somehow to protect you from destroying your screen when closing the shell without clipping the nubs in.
