Oh man, I didn’t tell you guys about the scratcher rampage I went on on Thursday, while I was getting a Mega Millions ticket. Walked in with $62. Played a $25 scratcher and lost. Played the same $25 scratcher and won. I don’t remember how much exactly it won, but I remember I proceeded to play a different $25 scratcher and won, then two different $30 scratchers, both winners, then two different $20 scratchers, both winners. At this point I was up to $112, $50 more than I walked in with. I was running out of expensive scratchers to play though, since I always switch to a new one after I win. I decided to try the $20 scratcher “$2,000,000 Diamond Dazzler”, and lost three times in a row. Fortunately, I played one last time, and won $30, leaving me with $62 again, what I walked in with. At that point, I got my Mega Millions ticket and left with $59.

Someone from California won the Mega Millions jackpot though, so it’s back down from $400 million to $20 million. I ordered some pizza on Thursday too, so I have $35 left now. Not sure whether to order even more pizza, or go on a $5 scratcher rampage today.

I had two dollars in quarters today. Played a $1 scratcher and won $2. Played a $2 scratcher and lost. Played a final $1 scratcher and lost. Not every day can be a rampage where I go through over $100 in scratchers and break even.

I guess maybe I could’ve quit while I was up one dollar, but who wants to win one measly dollar?

I have a friend who was here for the weekend who used to be a professional gambler. He used to make 100k a weekend. He would get kicked out (and banned) from casinos and they always timed it when he was down. He played black jack and claims to have only employed basic card counting. Have you ever tried this?

I just played $38 worth of scratchers off of $9. Not bad, no? I lost everything, but got some good entertainment. It actually would’ve been a great comeback story if I had stopped when I was up to $20. Being me though, I had to go after the big prize.

To sum up, had $9, played $2, won $4, played $5, lost, played $5, lost, played my last dollar, won $5, played $5, won $20, played $10, lost, played $10, lost. I still feel pretty good overall.

I hate to be the only one using this thread. You guys should be more irresponsible with money. And not in the “I just bought the latest thing off crowdsupply” kind of way.

It's the first Tuesday of the month, which means there are new scratchers in North Carolina. I just realized that I have no plan for what to do with the money if I do win something big. Pyra preorders are closed now, so I have to wait until those are available on the shop, which could still be a year out. I want a PlayStation 5, but that's not available for purchase either. I guess I could go after a scalper PS5, but that would take $1000. Which brings up another problem, I have to go to Charlotte to claim anything over $500. I think my dad would be good to take me, but I don't know. I wouldn't want my residential provider to take me, because they might make me spend the money on something they consider essential, like more furniture. I've decided that any really big prizes should go to my dad, but I'm not sure where the line is on that. $100,000 and over definitely, but something like $5000? No idea.

Yeah, in my current state, I would probably turn $500 into an Amazon gift card, then fritter it away on DoorDash, Nintendo, and the occasional Apple for streaming subscriptions, which is just a really boring way to spend $500. I need a better plan. I guess Steam Deck is a little tempting...

Played $30 on 200X the Cash, won $40. Played $30 on $10,000,000 Colossal Cash, won $100. Played $30 on Millionaire Maker, won nothing. I stopped there, because if I'm gonna start losing, I don't wanna keep losing. Besides, Meatloaf always said two out of three ain't bad.

Last week, I lost $50 to gambling. I wouldn't be in this thread unless I were going to toot my own horn though. This week, I played $10 and won $100, for a net gain of $90. Awww yeah.

That's a net gain of $90 over one week, but only $40 over the past two weeks, add in the week before you're $80 up, but I wonder how far back that takes you. Still if you enjoy it, it doesn't sound crazy expensive.

I would just pump all my gambling and lottery money into games and such, but I don't have a gambling fund...

I played a $30 "$10,000,000 Colossal Cash" scratcher and lost. So did I quit gambling forever? Fortunately not. Played the same scratcher one more time and won $300. Net gain: $240. I think this deserves a sunglasses emoticon.

No gambling for me this past week. Something interesting to note though. The $268 million Powerball drawing had to be delayed last night due to technical difficulties. As of this time, they still haven’t drawn it.

Like Null says though, it can’t be Russian interference, because it actually worked.

Okay, they just drew it. Now to see if anybody won. If it survives until Wednesday night, I might be tempted to play it.

Would you bet 100 dollars if you had a chance of one in 4,166 to win?
Asking because of this:
Do we need Bruce Willis up there, with a stick of dynamite?

The odds for that impact listed in the article are based on a tweet from 2020. The current odds listed by both NASA and the ESA are closer to one in 100,000.
