Here are some more specs and information on the ARM 11 processor inside the A330. Hopefully this
will give you more of an idea of functionality...

ARM1176JZF-S, an ARM’s proprietary RISC CPU core. It is designed for high-end
multimedia entertainment devices such as car AVN, portable multimedia player and
home entertainment.

Supports decoding and encoding various types of video and audio
standards with software and dedicated hardware codecs including JPEG / MPEG1 /
MPEG2 / MPEG4 / H.264 / VC-1 / RV up to Full HD (1080p) and MP3 / WMA / EAAC+ /
AC3, etc.

In addition, offers a hardwired 3D graphic accelerator to enrich
next generation GUI and other graphical applications.

Here is a actual white paper diagram of the processor used inside the A330:

i wonder who's behind these features...

It wouldn't be hard to implement them they already have Divx and such so to add the codec etc wouldn't be hard but who knows ChinaChip is making the Chip and OS. Just as they made the OS for the A320 and other Gemei devices.

at 1 frame per minute....

Really think it will be that slow?
I've never used my Dingoo A320 for video, strictly gaming and a little music.

Peace & Pandora,

I dont think its going to be usable, the only way these mobile devices can do this decode is with a DSP. I couldnt find anything on the SOC they used but i doubt that this would be working.
Plus its insane to be trying to play 1080 on 320x240.

They're probably using ffmpeg as on the A320. There is no way a 600MHz ARM11 can decode 1080p H.264.

It might help to add that BooBoo will be working on a Linux Boot for this device, whether it will be dual boot like the Dingoo or Flashed over the existing one is yet to be determined.

And this is an Arm device, so how easy will ports be from the Pandora?

Peace & Pandora,

Linux boot for the A330 is in the works but no idea if and when it will be ready for the A330 hopefully before release but who knows. Therefore I thought it best not to advertise something still in the works.

I think I'll be ordering one shortly. Have you used one yet?

I don't mind advertising BooBoo's intent, he seems like a good guy, just disappears for a year at a time sometimes. For the Pandora community, that's not a long time... :)

Peace & Pandora,

I might get one of these. I owned a Dingoo and loved it, but the weak processor (also odd choice in architecture) and awkward shoulder buttons sucked. This looks at least three times better.

DingooDigitalUSA, when a mod edits your post to make it readable, could you be a nice chap and leave it that way? Considering you pretty much only post on these boards to promote your store, the least you could do is format your posts so they look less like a spambot made them.

Spec lists with double line spacing = bad. Bullet points = good. :)

My bad thanks for moding the document ;)

Hi, Booboo -the Dingux creator- in this topic dissected a Gemei A330 and he has published the internal specs.

According to that the Gemei A330 has a CC1800 processor (ARM926 400MHz) and not the CC1800 (ARM 11 Processor 600 Mhz Underclocked to 500 Mhz) announced in the first message in this post.

Can you clarify this, please?

Thanks! (and sorry if my english is not very good)

I would go with what BooBoo found, I don't think very many people outside of China have the Gemei A330, so what he's found would be accurate regarding specs one should think.

Peace & Pandora,

EDIT: Even he said they might change some things before release, hopefully they do.
