SuperTuxKart

Two frames per minute. That's really, really slow. Unplayably slow. You're better off playing Mario Kart 64. Did I mention that it's literally a slideshow?

I don't think we're on the same page. Assuming the game normally strives for 30 frames per second, we have a framerate of two frames per minute, or .03 frames per second. Do the math; this game runs 900 times slower than it should.

Why is performance so poor? I would think it's a fairly good candidate for the pandora!

Is the performance something to do with lack of opengl to opengles conversion and it's just running a slow software renderer?

I think it uses Irrichlit (or however it's spelled), which runs very slowly on the Pandora.

Calm down. And if sebt3 posts it (upload it to Megaupload or something, it's too big for the boards), do you promise not to rage at the fact that you can't get any enjoyment out of it?

I though that too ;)

It realy feel like slow software. yet I built irrlicht without software emulation, so...

Part of the problem is that STK use lots high poly-count models.

But I'm not even sure the SGX is the bottleneck....

now if you would kindly make your signature picture a tad bit smaller.....that'd be great!

It is unplayable on my machine as well (AMD64 system with a Radeon HD 4870 and experimental Gallium drivers), but that has nothing to do with its 3D scene:

At the very beginning of a race it is running with full speed. However, once it starts drawing the 2D HUD elements => 1-2 FPS

I suspect that the core of the problem could be the same.

Perhaps it might make sense to port the old version, from before they switched to irrlicht?

Of course, there is also the older and less impressive tux kart

2 libraries and the game to port to GLES... way too much works.

Beside I already had some talks with the dev team, they are ready to build model with lower poly-count. I didnt give a following to thisbecause I'm not realy sure the issue is here.

Beside Irrlicht main dev have a pandora since a few weeks now, I'm still dreaming about a faster irrlicht :)
