Was sonic drift released on the sms or just the gamegear? Iv hav roms for the gamegear but i read on a few sites that there was an sms version 2, i just cant find it :(

You'd be amazed at what roms are out there for what games on what systems. Sonic Drift may have been a unreleased SMS game that was leaked for some reason. Hell, I've found Streets of Rage and Street Fighter on SMS. The Street Fighter rom doesn't really look like a hack homebrew thing (like the Tekken Vs. Virtua Fighter Genesis rom), it looked like just a watered down version of the SNES version.

If you find an SMS2 version, please say... I'd be very interested in seeing that, but I won't bother looking for it unless I know it exists.

i dont think that it was released for the SMS. I checked my "godly" roms site, but it wasnt there and they have everything. So no, i think is the answer, but i stand to be proved wrong....

Of course, if you want to up the resolution, you could always try renaming the GG rom to .sms and seeing what happens :) - you end up with quite a lot better resolution and crispness (although how on earth that works I have no idea since it ought to be resizing and getting the sprites the wrong size and such). But the colours are as messed up as they could possibly be. Can be fun, though.

Also sometimes causes crashes, but not all the time on all games...

There definitely wasn't a port to SMS of either Sonic Drift game, unfortunately...

Streets of Rage was officially released on SMS well after the MD version...when the 8-bit market was dying. The SF2 version which is going around is the Tectoy one from Brazil, and from what I've heard, it's a licenced port (which goes to show Capcom mustn't have cared much for that market...). There were a few bootleg ports of SF2 on SMS and GG...I have one for GG which isn't dumped. It's horrible! The names aren't even spelt right! I think they even spelt Ken wrong!

isnt this te kind of thing that your not suposed to talk about on the board? I know there warnt any links posted or anything, but it was close. I just wanted to say something about it... ;)

Nah. We just have a "don't ask, don't tell" policy about where we got our ROMs. With so many emulators for the GP32, we can't expect even a fraction has completely legal ROMs.

I just played Sonic Blast for the first time. I didnt realise that there were still Master System games being released in 1996. Does anybody know anything more about this game??
