So Craig, Whats That Gp2x That You Have Like?

Because it is curved I found my thumb kept slipping about on it, they have put a rough coating on it to try to stop that, but its not as good as the GP32 one, although it will obviously be more accurate as its 12 way.

I also kinda miss the big bumps on the back of the console, I liked those on the GP32, that was a clever design.

Modification time :) Maybe someone will sell "tits" for it as well as concave joystick knobs :)

Can we pull out the thumbpad like we did on the gp32?

It looks like it. Look at Squidges pics of the board it looks like a metal shaft where the stick slides on.

And better still, if you look at the size of that stick on the photos, it looks about the same as the GP32's bore... I know what I'll be doing before I even turn it on :)

this is all still guessing untill we get confirmation on the removeability/replaceability of the stick.

Craig - can you confirm the stick is removeable? and if so can you try replacing it with the GP32's stick? Not that I have any interest in amlutating my GP32 but some people are obviously concidering it.

If they can't change it at all I suppose I could always get a velcro sticky thing and put the fuzzy side on it for traction but that's a really ghetto fix.

The GP32's stick is too big for the gp2x - I've already tried that on a dev board.

It fits on, but there is way too much slack. The stick on the gp2x board is much smaller in diameter than the gp32's stick.

Also, the GP32's stick was square, where as the GP2X's stick is round.

aftermarket stick time :D i hope someone will make some.
good to know that it can be removed! i noticed the metal shaft in your pics too

or GPH could revise the system with a new pad once stocks have depleted of the original one.

Maybe they can then send them out to distributors to be retrofit.

Heat up a spoon, and melt a concave on to it. :)

or possibly cause it to start burning, stinking your house out...

lol, or modify a gp32 stick to fit? fill and drill out the right size hole?

Craig, nice videos! I was wondering if you've tried different codecs / bitrates / framerates. Are we going to have to transcode everything with specific settings like with the GP32, or does the 2X seem to handle a wide variety? Thanks for all your info.

Maybe we should have a semi concave stick? Convex on the edges for that extra accuraccy when you need it and concave in the center so your thumb won't slip when you need fast or continous movements.

yeah, like the xbox analog stick, right?

oh yeah, nice video, craig! everyone's gotta play that advent children, eh :p
