Hello I wanna know how to setup SNES9X 1.53, but there is no tutorial for it and I had no luck trying to set it up right.

Try Yoshi's Emulation Pack:
http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/caanoo.cgi?0,0,0,0,5,696

So what does that emulation pack do anyway?.

Does it have the snes9x 1.53 setup?.

This forum is about open handhelds. Are you sure you're in the right forum? Which handheld do you have?

I wanna know the tutorial to set-up the snes9x 1.53 on a laptop.

Note: Sorry about posting this in the wrong place I'm new here are there any mods that can move this topic to the right place.

I guess there is no right place to move this topic, as we are no PC forum here.
Nonetheless, if you're looking for an SNES emulator for your laptop, I was always very content with ZSNES. If your laptop is very fast, you can give bsnes a try.

Please help iv'e tried getting the latest version of Snes9x 1.53 after extracting when i click on the software it says.

"this application has failed to start because d3dx9_38.dll was not found"

oh well that has nothing to do with open handhelds ... but we dont want to be too bitchy about that ;)

that means you don't have the directx redistributable installed. go and install this http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=9894

So what does it do anyway for the snes9x 1.53?.

DirectX basically gives the program you're running direct access to the needed hardware, i.e. graphics, sound etc. It also installs the .dll files that are needed to run any DX dependent software.

Try youtube for a howto: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Y6OYEARNyo

It wasn't hard to find, googling "Snes9X forum" did the trick.
