Smashgp!!!

Hey! I've taken a look at that page...WOW there's everything we need to create characters! yaho!!!!

Please, include kirby to the game as soon as possible!!! It's the best smash bros. 64 character, and my favourite one!!!!!

i was thinking a peter giffin or stewie might be quite good to have in the game.

Stewie can be fine for this game: High jumps, that way of running he has :D, special movements with a lasergun or something ralated to hypnosis (paralyce enemy with his geek glasses or stuff like that xD)...WOW, simply

Spanish stewie best phrase:
TE DESTRUIRE MALDITA ZORRA MANIPULADORA!!!!!

yeah i suppose peter griffin would be similar to donkey kong really. you could get some good sound bites for stewie aswell.

if i was to make a char, would u want it exactly how it is in the real game?

Or could i make it how i please?

The size of the characters is not limited, so no restriction. But you'll have a lot more info this weekend, as I'm adding some stuff to the character editor right now.

And about character editing, maybe we can start working on something now: the palette issue. As the game runs in 8bit screen mode, and I made my palette in a hurry, it would be better to start with a better one. So if some people could send me their palette, or pictures with thair character's colours, that would be great.

I will open a topic this weekend, so as soon as the palette is ready, I'll update the pak files, and everyone would be able to start making characters.

@ Mat Keupon :

Sugestion : A characteristic point system : to stop a person making an all powerful super fast, unlimited jumping character.

I find some more sites with sprites that could be used.

Here's an example of a sprite rip off of Pocket Haven, in which you have to use a program to extract each frame. They have 2-d and 3d sprites. If there was some way to rip off the rest of picachu (running, jumping, attacking, etc. then you might be able to use it.

That looks really exciting, I'd love it if it felt like it was 3d :D

I dunno how N64 emus are these days, but for SNES, surely you'd just toggle a direction on, then pause the emu, turn the non-sprite layers off, and advance on a 1-CPU-Cycle basis with a screenie each time. Can N64 emus do the same kind of thing?

I am trying to create Knuckles...I got the sprites from here But when I save it to sample if anything is actually working, it saves, but when I go to play, it will show up as Mario! Is the editor working? Or is there a bug not letting me load a new character? Anyone have success with creating a new character?

Its not just you. I think there is a problem in the current character editor that makes the character flick back to Mario. I believe this bug will be fixed in the next version. :)

Yes, right, didn't have time to test more than one character before sending the entry... This will be fixed soon !
