My Digital Camera has a built in SD card reader. Could I possibly use the SD card and the camera to transfer files, as a bigger, clunkier, thumb drive?

Yes you could, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't, as long as your camera is read as a mass storage device rather than need some proprietary software.

yeah, you don't need any software. I was just curious, and I thought since I don't have a thumbdrive, this will do for a while, since I carr it everywhere anyway. But soon, I do hope to buy that 3 dollar reader, to use with my GP2x. that I don't have yet.

While we're on the subject, are Kingmax or Patriot SD cards any good? I found some 4GB cards from both for fairly cheap, wondering if it's worth taking a chance.
