I have issues with my SD cards.

Nothing happens when I insert an SD card into my GC Pandora. The card is not mounted and PND's don't show up on screen/menu. It does not matter what slot is being used.

It's mounted and sometimes PNDs show up when I put my Pandora into sleep and wake it up.

All my SD cards are working fine with a Ghz unit. (automount and PND-scan).

edit: all cards are working fine with an USB-SD adapter.

Is there a script or a command line utility to automount and re-scan SD cards?

Insert your card and run "dmesg" on a command line, see if there are any messages towards the end relating to "mmc" devices (mmcblk0p1, etc...). If possible, copy and paste those messages here.

Does this happen with all cards, just one card, or do you only have the one card to try?

I had this problem with the right slot of my 1GHz Pandora.  In my case, it was a problem with the card detect switch.  It acted just like you said where I could put it to sleep and then wake it up to get it to detect the card.

Thank you WizardStan,

Here is the dmesg output including a wake-up message.

It that normal that it 'finds' an USB host? I rarely use USB host mode and I have it disabled but I always get this message after wake-up.

There are three card-related messages in the dump.

1/ card 1 inserted (sudo fdisk -l says nothing)

2/ card 2 inserted (sudo fdisk -l says nothing)

3/ card 3 removed. no message on dmesg when it was inserted. (sudo fdisk -l says nothing)

I have about 10 cards and all do the same trick.

On a Ghz pandora:

All mounts fine.

It complains only about the "bogus number of reserved sectors" and/or "can't find a valid FAT filesystem" and/or "invalid media value (0x00)" but all cards work fine.

Cards are

(microsdin adapter) Samsung 16Gb cl10,

(microsd in adapter) Sandisk 2Gb-16Gb cl2-10 and a

(full size sd) 32Gb that came with a Ghz bundle from ED.

I did a full flash 3 days ago so the OS is the latest.

I hope it helps.

Thank you!
