This is why the pandora is awesome. This was all processed on the pandora.

Frotz (the interpreter) was compiled while sat in the hospital.

The Zenity script was written and debugged while sat in the pub and finished this morning while waiting for the car to cool down.

All needed files were downloaded using a Wifi hotspot link from my mobile to the pandora too.

.....a work of magic, no less, thanks mhaws :)

They don't make adventure games like this anymore :(

PS

If anyone wants to rename the pnd filename to something more recognisable, remember not to include a space in the filename!

I've never tried any text-only adventure game (played plenty of lucasart and other though). Might give a try :)

Is there one (or more) game in particular that would be recommended ?

It's really nice to see all the software available on the Pandora... lot's of geeky stuff.

From the 2nd one onwards there is a consistant interface.

So I would start there.

I do have a copy of Zork that I keep forgetting to upload too.

Also check out Gargoyle (runs a dozen kinds of text advents including the Infocom style and MAgnetic Scrolls style); I've also got Kronos up which I only built Magnetic Scrolls into, but with Gargoyle being better I've not worked on Kronos much. Someone also did another Frotz port awhile back.

So IF (interactive fiction) is pretty well served on Pandora :)
