Well as you may know there are also problems with overheating. Higher battery= longer playing= more heat

EDIT: also i don't know why they didn't give the DS a 2400 battery. With the time i get with a half charged one in it now. It would last at .least over 24 hours.

is there an official word on how long psps battery lasts in a 3d game wth brightness on and max volume

Gamespot is saying that running ridge racers, the battery seems to last about 3 hours. This is hands on with their unit that they've had for like a week now. Sony has mentioned that Ridge Racers would drain batteries faster than other games, but I guess that means it's typical of 3d games.

no, but they might make a better battery from sony and sell it to make a profit and that would help overcome the loss from a PSP
maybe thats how they planned it
clever bastards

At most people will only buy ONE extra battery and thats only if it has more life than the original one, batteries are not going to reverse the monetary lose they're suffering on the system, it's the games thats goign to pull them out of the red.

I stand corrected, but still it'd be such a minor sale that they'd spend more money producing and selling the battery than they'd make from the actual sales.

I dont think so
If they sell them for more than they cost to make, then they are on their way back to coming even, but it will truly lie in the games that come out

Well, six hours is pretty good. Most GP32's will give you something around the figure of six hours play time so I can't see how anyone can complain.

And good on Sony for making this thing so easy to crack :D

EDIT: Scratch that, 90 mins to 3 hours for Ridge Racers is a little too low for my liking. Unless they improve the technology or developers discover new ways to maximise the battery life I think I'll be sleeping in Nintendo's bed tonight. The PSP looks fantastic but I don't want to be charging batteries every single day.

That depends on how much it costs, I've said it many times people would rather complain than blow money they dont feel they should be spending money on in the first place. If the batteries cost more than the price of a game for maybe an extra hour of play time no one will buy it. It has to be a signifigant increase or it'll just become another thing to complain about.

Sony PSP - Working Right Now on Kai

Hey guys,

Thanks to some information recently received by Team XLink, I'm happy to annouce that I just made kaiEngine 7.0.5.3 live - with full support for the Sony PSP handheld console.

Obviously, at present we have very little knowledge of how this unit actually performs when being tunnelled - although I know a few Japanese gamers are starting to get their hands on these devices as we speak - I call on them to help test the new kaiEngine, and provide me with feedback.

Over the next few hours, I'll be creating game arenas in Kai for all the confirmed-LAN Japanese launch titles, but be warned - some of the information may be shaky, so don't take it as gospel that all those games actually support WiFi play. Also, supporting documentation will be written, in a simple form, tonight - it's basically just like using a PS2, with a couple of extra conditions.

team Mlink? haha, it's xlink. they have the best tunneling service for xbox and the only one for ps2 and gc. are any of you guys registered with xlnik? if so, whats your xtag or whatever?
edit, it's funny how they already have it up and running 100% w/o testing it :D
i wonder if it's cuz psp documentation is easily available
