So, having read all that, I'm pretty sure I still don't know what a monad is, but I think I know how to implement one now at least.

That describes most of my programming knowledge, really. Learn to do a thing, then forget what it's called.

Yeah, I don't do functional coding. And I think the only closures I've worked with were in Lua.

Maybe I should just try to forget what I learned here...
