Port Requests

Hi,

Here a tool that I use on my computer, http://utilfr42.free.fr/util/Clavier.php?sLang=en

"Clavier+ allows to create keyboard shortcuts involving almost any key, including the Windows keys located around the spacebar.

The created shortcuts can be associated to launching programs or writing text.

You always launch the same programs, navigate to the same websites? Create a simple shortcut to do it quicker.

Tired of writing your E-mail address? Create a universal keyboard shortcut to write it: it will work under Word, Excel, and your favorite Internet browser!

Features
  • Create global shortcuts, available in all programs
  • Fast program launching
  • Fast text writing with a single keystroke
  • Small and fast program: only one EXE of less than 100 Kb, no data in the Registry, setup program not required"

it's open source:

I know that this software has been designed to work on windows, but I was wondering if it could be possible to port it on Pandora/Pyra?

Edit: Maybe even integrate it into the Pyra's Os ?

Most of this can be done in xfce. Just go to the menu Settings->Desktop->Keyboard.

Hi all :)

Do you think Gorynlich would run on the Pandora ?

Gorynlich the dragon has stolen the AllCheese(tm) from the lactose tolerant Dwarves of olde. Enter the dungeon and retrieve said cheese in 100 levels of randomized death.
Source is there.

Cheers, Magic Sam

Not sure if you guys know about this already, but there's a fairly new GBA emulator on the block:

https://mgba.io/

It's designed to run on low-end hardware, it should be more stable/accurate than gpSP (which I experience occasional crashes in) yet faster than VBA / GBA.emu (in which I never reached a smooth 60fps)

Looks nice and easy to compile.
But there is already some Pandora support inside, so I guess someone already released it (or at least plan to) ?

I'm friends with the author of mgba. It already works fairly well on the Pandora (they own a CC) and should be more accurate and stable than gpsp and VBA in most situations, though it does not currently have a JIT and might be a bit slow on some games.

It absolutely supports the NES Classics. There's even a neat blog about this: https://mgba.io/2014/12/28/classic-nes/

I'll bug them about doing an official release and ask about performance.

Now we are talking about ponies I think it is the right moment to suggest another port :)

http://download.tuxfamily.org/hatari/

Hatari was already ported a while ago but it is still a pretty old version (version 1.6) and also has an issue with load/save state at start-up/exit .  Current version is 1.9 and only libraries it depends on are

Would it be possible to run the PocketPC version of age of empires 1? Since it's made for arm it should work, maybe by using WineCE?

Hi again :)

How about playing trAInsported on the Pandora ?

TrAInsported is a game about trains, Artificial Intelligence and lots and lots of passengers.
It's the near future, and trains are controlled by AI. It's your job to write the best AI on the market. Manage your trains in short rounds and make sure you transport more passengers than any other company.

As you go through the game, your AI will improve. Once through the tutorial and challenge maps (or anytime you think your AI is ready), you can upload the AI through this site and watch it compete in live online matches against other players' AIs!
The server will stage live matches multiple times an hour. AIs will be chosen at random, the less matches the AI has already competed in, the more likely it will be to compete in the next match.
It depends on the Löve Game Engine.

Cheers, Magic Sam
