I voted "no even after 2 years +", "no", and "no" (bearing in mind that I can't upgrade my current pre-order because I already have mine :P ).

I can't imagine anything I would need incremental upgrades of the hardware for, because the existing model already does everything that I had wanted it for (and has done for some time). My requirements may well have been less intensive than those of others around here, though.

A lot of people want the latest and greatest simply because it is latest and greatest, not because they actually have a requirement for it :P

Sometimes I fall into that category: given the choice between two existing pieces of tech of similar function, I'll choose the one that I think futureproofs me the best, as I did in my mobile phone selection, so I can kind of see where they're coming from.

On the other hand, this isn't a comparison of two mobile phones and you can walk away with either one right now; due to the small nature of the project, making a new Pandora would almost require abandoning the original entirely in favour of the new one by the company, so there's no comparison to be made on the user end.

True, although what I meant is that I tend to see discussion of things which are quite intensive that were never really on my "Pandora list", so to speak (e.g., N64 emulation, or running any of a number of old versions of Microsoft Windows). :P

I do tend to do the same (albeit with other hardware, as I don't use mobile telephones and don't want one), so I do see where they're coming from to a degree, also. :) That said, where I probably go a different route on that is that if something does everything I want of it and I know I won't be needing more, and the cost difference is substantial (and in a country with a high cost of living, it can be), I'll sometimes go for that one.
