PNDManager issues (bug/requests)

Hello,

I am the very proud new owner of a Pandora (rebirth) which I received yesterday.  I'm loving it.  I'm not a gamer so my intended use is as a pocket computer and, so far, I am very impressed.

I have one problem, however: pndmanager has stopped working for me.  If I double-click on the icon on the desktop, the manager starts up and immediately terminates.  If I

pnd_run /media/esfpanda/pandora/apps/pndmanager.pnd
in a terminal window, I get the following output:

...
Starting the application ( scripts/panorama.sh ) *** glibc detected ***
./pandorama: double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x005079e8 ***
Starting the application ( scripts/panorama.sh )
...

and then I'm back at the prompt.

I can still install apps from the repo so this is not critical.  However, it worries me to not have something as basic as pndmanager work.

I upgraded the Pandora as soon as I received it (to supersaxxon 1.60, I believe; I am not sure how to find out the current version).

Thanks,

eric

I'm also having an issue with the pndmanger since the pandora os upgrade to SZ1.60, the pnd doesn't start. Here's the pnd out:

Sounds like something got accidentally  got written to to the mountpoint and it's preventing it from mounting the PND properly....

Try rebooting then typing this at the terminal before attempting to start PNDManager:

cd /mnt/pnd
sudo rm -r pndmanager
cd /mnt/utmp
sudo rm -r pndmanager

Then try again.

Hi,

Not working for me... No pndmanager folder in /mnt/pnd nor /mnt/utmp

Here's the output of pnd_run:

Panda:/media/BigPanda$ pnd_run pandora/apps/system/pndmanager.pnd
Runscript    /usr/pandora/scripts/pnd_run.sh
Pndfile        pandora/apps/system/pndmanager.pnd

Invoking: 'PNDManager'

uMount the PND                                                       [sUCCESS]

-- EDIT - SOLVED --

I did a chmod -R 777 on my SD root and rebooted once more. Not sure if that's what fixed it, but now it works.

*nods* Given the contents of that output file, I wouldn't have expected my suggested solution to work in your case.   That was a tailored solution based on my reading of the specific pndrun_pndmanager.out file that pandos posted.

Specifically it was these lines in the output that suggested that solution to me:

[ START ]--- Mount the PND ----------
Mounting : mount -t squashfs -o ro "/dev/loop1" "/mnt/utmp/pndmanager"
rmdir: failed to remove `/mnt/pnd/pndmanager': Directory not empty

After updating to SZ V1.74 PNDManager is not able to install new programs.
I could choose a program, PNDManager starts the download and finished it to 100%, but it didnt end the download, no matter how long Im waiting for it. I have to end PNDManager and the program is not installed.

Whats wrong here? Any idea?

Same for me, but not on all PNDs. The Serious Sam PNDs went on fine, but the mouse maze (is that right?) just sat there at 100% for ages. I believe I've reported this one before for the LibreOffice PND (possibly) and I have to manually download the lazarus PND on my PC and transfer it via wireless network.

I'm not sure what PND Manager does between the percentage updating to 100% and the remove/run etc. buttons appearing, but it's clearly something as it blocks to UI and my SD card light flashes twice. For me though, it never takes more than about five/ten seconds to complete.

Anything in the pndrun_.out?

Thought my problem was gone, but it happend again.
Try it several times and SeriousSam works now. BTW: Great Game.
Now I got the same problem with PocketEmul. :(

MD5 check fail for uae4arm

It might be being corrupted during download, but it might also be an issue with the SD card, or maybe just with the file system. It may be worth running a file system check on it. (or if it's a FAT based card, chkdsk /f on a windows box, I've actually had that fix an issue that fsck couldn't detect for some reason.)

Today it works again. I could update 5 programs without any problem. Weird. o_O
