Pandroa Team Are Innovators

Hmm I don't see it as a alternative...
It has no Hard keys...

And it isn't Open Source...
Though it is pretty neat, but I always think gaming on the Iphone is pretty much not done.
It just doesn't play that well at all (yes I own a Iphone) :p

maybe they'd be interested in the pandora, a port seems pretty easy. however, i have to wonder why they would even consider releasing it for the iphone. it doesn't seem like a game a "casual" gamer would play or the have the price a "casual" gamer would pay. there's the horrible controls on the iphone too. reading the article, it seems that they've made the best of it they can, but still, it's looks hard to play with touchscreen + accelerometer only without something really innovative. i believe quake is already on the iphone, albeit not officially. maybe they can get rid of that overhead OS.

the bad about the iphone in my opinion

- proprietary os and apps
- doesn't support all codecs
- on screen keyboard =(
- closed source
- screen can get scratched when put in pocket
- crappy screen (resolution)
- no usb host
- worse battery life
- digital volume control
- DAC not as good?
- less storage capacity
- look like a conformist when you have one :p

the good about the iphone that the pandora doesn't have (imo)
- assisted gps?
- 3g (cellphone)
- smaller
- this junk:
* Accelerometer
* Proximity sensor
* Ambient light sensor

Pandora for me all the way
feel free to add more on either list =)

Whoa..I did not expect this to get misunderstood. I was only posting that iphone specs (internal only) matched pandora. I was trying to give credit to Craig and the others. Also, John Carmack was talking about doom and quake, and pickle has already done this.

And yes, maybe this will open up more software ports for Pandora.

Sorry for the confusion.

Jason
