A Poor Man''s Pandora

I really like the swivel, which should make this a good ebook/comic reader and the form factor might be decent for games as well. Too bad it wasn't touchscreen as that would make rts's etc. work nicely with this.
But it does come with a touch screen.

Not sure what the batterylife is like though.
For the same budget you could get 3 of these crappy netbooks for the price of a pandora....
Not that anyone here would trade their pandora for 3 of those :p

The official announcement says nothing about touch screen, just touch PAD. That would be the pad below the keyboard for controlling the mouse.

Quite right, my mistake, actual product site lists no touchscreen, just touchPad (Although they do have other models with touchscreens )

Anyway, its no match for the Pandora, but its nice to see that its a nod in the general direction.
Hopefully the increase interest in the ARM architecture will be beneficial to everyone.
If this company keeps improving models, maybe they might have something more promising in the next few years.

http://www.skytone.net.cn/en/products.php?...amp;show_type=1, notice the "Touch pannel" icon, and the artical did say

To its credit, however, the netbook does seem to have a swively touchscreen, Wifi, Ethernet, 3G, a couple of USB ports and an SD card slot bunged into the low-cost package.

That's what we're talking about. The official site says touch pad under the specifications, and touch panel on a different page. It's very ambiguous. The article says touch screen, but it's not in any way official, it's just someone regurgitating exactly what we see on the official page.

If you look at the pictures it has a PAD. I doubt they would add that if the screen itself would be a touchscreen. And as a sidenote, engadget said that it's going to sell for 250$. Which sort of kills the whole idea. Better to get a touchbook or some swivel netbook.
