...and again my words are ignored/misinterpreted. I'm not saying it would make old games not work I'm saying it (the second nub) would not work with old games, and this would tick off thousands of people who would thusly flame and complain loudly. More loudly than if they simply didnt have it. If you give people something and they dont like it they get even louder than they would have been if they never had it to begin with. With all the issues they're suffering from right now the last thing they need is to give people more reason to crap on them so they simply let it go.
Again we're talking about the difficulty for them adding this, not only in a technical sense, but in a buisness sense too. If it becomes more difficult for them to do something than NOT to, you can be sure they're not going to do it unless it bares fruit. Adding an extra nub is NOT going to sell more PSPs, and in fact it stands to gain them worse reviews for doing it and not being able to magically make it work with older games just because they were created after the advent of dual analog controllers(the irrationality of that is not lost on me but this is the type of irrational demands that consumers make without knowning what has to be done for that to happen).
Look, added functionality is great, but it's been hard enough to get developers on board naturally with what the PSP offers, and that's regardless of an extra nub, you start throwing complications at developers like "we've got a second analong on the system now... but you still have to design your games to play nice on systems that dont have it because there are some 40 million of them out there that are the old ones and we dont want to alienate them" would just make matters worse.
Consumers want without regard for a bigger picture, they only want what they see suiting them regardless of anyone else. If consumer got everything they wanted the PSP would be a wearable xbox 360 with a heads up display helmet and far removed from what they set out to create.
The things added to the PSPgo do not in anyway effect those who ALREADY have a PSP, the idea is to sell this to people who have a problem with the UMD, and would perfer to download all their games, (ie. the iphone crowd) Bluetooth dosent change the fact that you can do the same thing with a wired headset cheaper. Downloadable games can still be downloaded to memory sticks in the X000 series, it's small sure but you'd have to be morbidly obese to not be able to fit the current PSP in a pocket. Like I said this isnt aimed at people who already have a PSP it's aimed at those who do not so the idea of loosing UMD compatability shouldnt even be a concideration since both systems are to be sold simultaneously.
