Pandora With Out The Case

Yeah I saw that. If I was one of the preorders that already got mine I would be pissed.
On that note, I wonder how people would respond if TI suddenly dropped the 600mhz chips and OpenPandora was forced to go with 720s for the 3rd or 4th batch.

I bought a PC quite a while ago and I only got a 386 40Mhz 1MB, the 3293rd batchers got Quad cores 3Ghz with 4GB, I want my money back!

people will complain no matter what.

Pandora Tablet!!!
Toochbook already available http://www.alwaysinnovating.com/home/index.htm
For just the Pandora hardware i don't see the nned just look for Beagleboard http://beagleboard.org/ or mini format like the Overo http://www.gumstix.com/store/catalog/index.php?cPath=27_33

Lol, the touchbook "expect your order to be shipped within two months" Seems they have the same two month problem!

I'd be really happy and buy a new one and give the old Pandora to a starving developer in Skåne.

Is it possible to get a Pandora with out the case, keyboard and nubs, just the electronics

Do you need the 3d rendering capability? If not, check out the Beagleboard. It's a computer with the same CPU as the Pandora. And it's cheaper.

Why should the 3d acceleration differ? The Beagleboard and the Pandora should be VERY similar - i guess they share more than just the chipset.

pandora and the beagleboard use the same SOC so the CPU, gpu, and dsp are all the same... Beagleboard does do hardware 3D

Getting the drivers to work in the Angstrom demo is a challenge, to say the least. Not certain why it is so, but I've yet to get it to work right. Others have successfully gotten it working, so it's not impossible, I just haven't figured out that magic combination of settings and kernel options to get it to work with the rest of my setup.
The Pandora has all the software all tied up for you already, so no need to mess with things.

Back to RedBaron's question.

I am also interested in a Pandora Board AND LCD (cable too ;) ).
I already have my Panda on order, but would like a mobo and LCD (maybe with nubs).

Also. Did the touchbook change the entire SoC to up the ram? I nearly ordered one a few weeks ago. I would be PISSED if I got 256mb and then they upped it.
I aint gonna order one now! That sucks!

Pandora would be seeexxxxxxxyy with 512mb Ram :pandora2ut4: ;)

The Palm Pre Plus (OMAP3430) also doubles the ram of the previous to 512mb.

It will be great to see all the mods and custom devices people come up with based on some of the Pandora hardware.

Oh, sorry. I didn't realize that. Sorry for confusing the issue.

Current BB revision has 256 Mb RAM. For a derivate (but not "open" hardware) with 512MB ram see http://www.igep-platform.com/
