Anything out there like the Pandora? With around the same price or less (iphone is alot more expensive), Decent Specs, maybe gaming controls and/or a keyboard and Possibly handheld size on par with Pandora? Doesn't have to fulfill all of these requirments but it would be nice. So yeah anything out there?

want some pasta?

Something like a netbook? They are similarly priced, more powerful and I've heard spread rumors that the newest ones (with latest Atom processors) can run PS1 and N64 emulation just fine.

Another thing is software support. All software currently available for Windows can run on it (excluding most current-gen games, of course).

I'm sure that most people just are fed up with the waiting. I find myself wondering if the waiting is worth it some days...a netbook with a small USB controller would be just as good, if not better, just larger and more bulky.

But with no community... and quite a bit more bulky. Basically anything that's not pocketable is not an alternative to me, I have a decently powerful laptop for that stuff.

pandora alternative?

yes, yes there is and it is everything you could possibly want in portable gaming.

If there were something remotely like the Pandora out then people wouldn't be so desperate for it to be out already.

This thing looks crazy. I mean, look at it:

How does that even work?

~ more than meets the eye ~

The screen on the outside slides up to reveal the numeric keypad. It then folds open clamshell with a second screen and keyboard inside. No magic transforming.

Sounds like a waste of a second screen. Cool though, I guess? The control scheme and layout is pretty enticing.. if the CPU is worth anything this could be quite interesting. But I doubt it is.

I might buy this just because it looks so crazy. If it actually exists.

It does. When I was researching new phones last year, this was one that I seriously considered. It's only dual band though, and I was hoping for something tri-band at least. That and it's "analog TV" feature is about to become totally useless in north America.

Yeah seen that phone ages ago.....

Looks like the manufacturer doesn't make them anymore.....

That phone has:
windows (mobile or CE, can't tell)
(2x) qvga (320x240) resolution
no wifi
afaict, no bluetooth or 3G
probably quite weak cpu

So, no thanks, I'd rather have my Pandora.
There simply are no other pocketable devices <$400 with Pandora's performance and flexibility*.

There are a couple devices that come close, but none can consider themselves a real competitor to Pandora's niche:
The Nokia N900 is a pretty similar device, just no gaming-controls (use a bluetooth-controller), less connections(but it does have 3G and 32GiB of built-in flash), and significantly more expensive.
The Archos 5 is similar in specs, has flash storage, is cheaper, but no keyboard or gaming-controls, and a locked-down default os.
The Odroid is also similarly specced, does have some gaming controls, is cheaper, has a hdmi-port, but only a 320x480-screen, no keyboard, and a smaller battery.
The current Ipod Touch is about the same performance hardware-wise, cheaper, but its screen's resolution is far lower, and it's far less flexible.
Cheap netbooks are more powerful, but not pocketable.
There's a whole host of <$300 slider-phones and other devices that are (far) less powerful.

* meaning battery-life, controls, connections(physical and wireless), and openness of the software. Just everything that makes it possible to use it in a particular situation.

Beware of those Chinese phones if you live in a hot climate.

I have a dual-sim Blackberry-style phone and when I took it to Thailand it kept turning itself off in the extreme heat.
