Pandas in Russia

Did you ever ask for the tracking number, because I can send it to you.

However, often it does not help, German Post tells you Russian Post doesn't support tracking, so you can only track it until it arrives in Russia...
I asked via DragonBox week ago...

I received only this:

Hi,

I'll check the tracking tomorrow, when I'm back at the office.

Sorry for the late reply, I was pretty much busy with work.

Fellow russian reporting in.

I just recently got my Pandora from Craig after some years of waiting and am writing this on it.

Oh, how many wonderful adventures it had while getting here - for one I couldn't get it through customs and it just sat there in the UPS warehouse (so close and yet so far) while I tried to get one document after another and then I just wasn't allowed to recieve it because it is not in the "permitted" list... So it went home and everyone lost some money and time (except for UPS).

And then it just took like two months for it to arrive via normal mail;  a box a little battered but not crushed :)

Wish you a smoother ride :)

Congratulations AFAIK ! Are you from 1st batch or 2nd ?
From second, but my case is not representative - there were some shortcuts involved when I realised I'll be waiting forever if I won't do something. Look at my post history, It's all there.

I got some customers from Sibiria and every time they are in Germany, they take some more packages with them for other guys, because it would take ages with postal service,

especcially if the goods are a bit more unique than ...well... potatoes?

No.  You ordered it from Craig.  You GOT it from ED.  Craig's a bum.  Yeah, I said it.

Wrong. I ordered it from Craig (I wish I knew there are other options back then, of course, but still), Craig got it from ED, and I've got it from Craig and the return address was in UK and not Germany.

And maybe communications were poor (to say the least), I still don't want to talk bad about him and feel sad when other people (especially moderators like yourself) do, as, to my understanding, he was the one who took the risks and put his name and money on it (and even ED said somewhere in this forum that without someone as crazy as Craig to do it, to risk it and to believe in it, Pandora'd never got started) and lost it all.

And if he'd just declared OP Ltd bankrupt two years ago, like he was going to, he won't have to with everything he is dealing with now - all he got from Pandora is debts and blame and bad reputation and a list of people angry with him.

Everything he did is taken from him, all the money gone, production is now in ED's hands and no one is sorry for Craig...

I just can't understant why Craig keeps hiding in the shadows while all he should do to make (most) people happy is just to leave some comments here and there... seems like the only thing in his mind is to tweet something, even if the majority of the interested people doesn't even read them because they are (rightfully) expecting info on the sites where the discussions are started...

Anyway in my experience, everytime I contacted his store for info I always got fast response, so I never felt like most angry people I seen around here.

No.  I'm NOT sorry for Craig.  That's the risks you take going into business.  you do not get guaranteed success and profits.

I am a small business owner myself.  I took the risk.  In my case, I currently reap rewards.  But tomorrow, I could lose my clients, and be left with nothing.  If I have any employees when the company goes down, in that scenario...THEY will get unemployment insurance.  As the business owner, I will not.

And that is the risk I take.  I don't get a nice, steady regular paycheck - I only get paid when my clients do.  And I get paid a percentage of what THEY get paid.  This is my motivator to get them as much as I possibly can.  Because when THEY get more, I get more.  But if they get nothing, I get nothing, too.  Unlike most billers, I bill based on a percentage of what is RECEIVED...not on what is BILLED.  Because I feel that is the right way to do business.  I make a little less this way, but I sleep with myself at night.

I'm not sorry for Craig.  I'm sorry for the people who have waited for years, paid money up-front, were promised something...and have not yet gotten it!

And then, to add insult to injury for these people...you get people like me, who were latecomers to the project....who got a Pandy right away...even as they still wait.

The financial situation at Pandora necessitated this...but, try to look at it from their side of the telescope.

The thing is...I CAN see things from Craig's perspective, being a business owner myself.  and I am telling you...as a small business owner...Craig did EVERYTHING WRONG.  when things started to go to hell - he could have asked for help.  He could have stayed in communication.  With his customers, his partners.  He did none of that.

ED went out there, busted butt, found some investors...and got the project going again.  HE is the one who is filling all these orders...HE is the one who is giving up most if not all of his profits to clean up the mess Craig left behind...and he has not offered to lift a signle finger to help clean up the mess he created.

No, I do not feel sorry for him.

And, as a business owner (forget the fact I'm a Mod - because that means nothing special really) - I said Craig was a bum...and I meant it.

Incidentally, the main reason I am a Mod here is because I volunteered to do something I could do to give back to this community, who has given me much...because I can't code my way out of a paper bag.  So I'm nothing special.  But I call 'em like I see 'em.  I said what I said and I stand by it.  Unless the situation changes - or some previously unknown-to-me information comes out.

How can you feel sorry for a guy who never says "sorry" himself for screwing his customers? You don't get respect for free in this world.
Damn right you don't get respect for free in this world!

As a small business owner, EVERYTHING I do is constantly up for judgement and review.

And I better do business right...or I will have no business to do.

I can't speak for AFAIK....but, for me...in my business life...one hundred "atta-girl"s are outdone by one "aww, crap"

Yeah, Kumaki - trust is very hard to gain, and very EASY to lose. And somehow I still wonder how Craig managed to pull it off with his Kickstarter ICP2 campaign.

This either means that there are more fools around than I thought, or that he managed to keep the Pandora mess confidential enough to prevent it from doing collateral damage on his ICP2 project.

Well in the end, it's still the very same person incapable of delivering anything he promised. I hope people will learn in the end.

To quote P. T. Barnum - there's a sucker born every minute.

Maybe Craig thinks his supply of suckers will never run out.

And he might be right.

But that is a hell of a way of doing business.

I wouldn't.  I COULDN'T.

Just today, at one of my client's offices, I was paid a huge compliment...that I give four times what their previous biller did.  and I told them it is just simply the way I do business...and I simply won't do it any other way.  I do business the way I would like others to do business with me.

For ME...the ulitmate compliment a client can give me, and the best thing...is their referral to yet another client.

I want people to speak well of me...and my business.  Because I care.  But that's me.

I do business the way I would like others to do business with me.
Categorical imperative

That's the spirit!

The force humanism is strong in this one. ^^
