Are you sure this can run megadrive games?

... I read SMS ... Sega Master System ... dunno where anyone got the idea that it played MD games

How's the screen quality? Oh, and how big is it really? Even the manufacturer claims 960x240... Haw.

The resolution is 320x240 and they're counting subpixels. The screen quality is actually very good. It's bright and has good colors. Click here to see a comparison with some other handhelds.

That's bullshit. They could build cartridges with MD or GBC games (and even a GP2X cartridge ;) ), but there are none available.

Why do you want too buy such thing if you already own a GP2X?!

1. It is 1/4 the price (not even counting ancillary items)

2. It actually works flawlessly out of the box, and it isn't emulating.

3. battery life

4. the expansion things seem nice, I am sure that a MD on a chip would fit (I have a Radica Genesis/MD on a chip, it is pretty cool)

Question, do the carts stick way out the top in that goofy manner? That seems kinda cheap, but hey, it IS kinda cheap :).

Thats a pretty neat little device. Its almost as if its a portable supergun, and you just plug whatever board you need into it. In theory anyhow. I dont see myself getting one since i have a gp2x. Its true that its not emulation, but a lot of the system on a chips produce output thats sometimes is no better than emulation. I might pick one up in the future anyhow, since im a sucker for handhelds.

i sold my gp2x a while ago now all i'm really looking for is portable nes at as lower cost as possible is this the best option?

Your best option is a cheap gameboy micro. You can get them for 50€ here in germany and the gba still has the best handheld lineup since the original GB.

Yes the GP2X is my favorite system of choice. Play it all the time. I have 13 portable handheld gaming systems. I love portable gaming. I like the technology in my hand. I need this system to be a part of my collection. I personally just enjoy having these little pieces of gaming history. Every now and then I pull one out and have a go at playing on one. After I get this one, I must have a GameKing next. :)

I was headed an entirely different way, I love PC's and I want one of the new handheld 1GHZ 7" 800x640 screen "handhelds" that run full XP Tablet. I like the one with the integrated VIA C7-m ( http://www.paceblade.com/UMPC )

Sure it is big, but it would still fit in the medium-small pouch in my backpack, and I am 6' and 250 pounds anyway, so it might look normal in my hands :).

Besides, I am sure that all my favorite emus will work on that (N64 and PSX are full-speed @ 1ghz ;)) and since Descent is still one of my favorite games I can have the whole line-up (I, II, 3 and even the PSX versions!) on it.

Too bad it looks like they will be $600, but at least they are making them finally.

2. So what? Once you get it to work it works fine.
3. Good batteries last long enough.

Hey that looks neat. It would be interesting to see it running a lot of the emulators. It would be also interesting to see how well they would play with the buttons on the unit.

Yeah, I would probably make "controller wings" out of a cut up Sony PSX pad :). If it was really terrible to play on.

I think you're missing an N-Gage QD! :)

Wow, that's quite a collection.

The carts look kind of like GBA carts, somebody should see if they can get one of its carts working with an EZF writer/reader cable... ;)

like a few other people already said, I'd be interested in this if I didn't already have my GP32. But even without the GP32, I would have bought a pocket famicom, game axe, or that GBA lookalike thing that comes in blue and pink whose name I can't seem to remember, by now. So while this definitely looks like a neat little device, I wouldn't have much use for it.
