I've been tracking web activity surrounding the Pandora for months now using Google Alerts.

I thought that people might be interested at just how much the Pandora is being reported about, talked about. Bear in mind this is only the small amount that Google has picked up on!

This is just the stuff for September. If you want any more feel free to ask!

Agh. Those of us who have been following the project from the beginning here on the forums are going to have trouble getting one of the first 3000. That's a shame.

What will the devs do if preorders sell out in a few hours?

The amount of rage on the forums would be huge. Normal users might get all the hardware, leaving casual developers no chance to port anything.

It would likely mean a larger batch the next time, and a far larger following then expected for the Pandora.

That, and a lot of resellers trying to get rich on eBay.

Only in that you will have to wait. If they sell the first 3k THAT fast, you can bet your bottom dollar there will be MORE of them. Probably a 6-12k run the second pass through.

Considering that the MK0 crowd happen to have emus and commercial games, there will be stuff available and there will be a bigger than planned order following the first production run... ;)

You'll just be waiting a couple of months more, that's all... :D

(yes i know thats not really their intention, as they started the project before the sudden heart attack that the gp2x suffered...)
Not to mention that the GP2X Wiz is the "true" GP2X replacement (and will be a lot closer to it in terms of price and specs). Pandora is something a bit different, but it does attract many people from the same community. In any case, programs will be easily ported between the two as they'll both use Linux...

yeah, i just thought i would make it go along with the GP2x posts i posted...the ones about it being a serial killer, with a PSP fetish...

...on a completely random note...that link in your sig...another thing that makes no sense about the big bang... i WISH it worked that way, then i could just throw a stick of dynamite into my room and it would no longer appear that a minitornado went through there...

I know what you mean. Don't get me wrong it would be great if they all sold out that quickly, and of course it's the dev's decision on how they handle the sales, but I do find it strange how the forum members where included in the development process from the start, but potentially not included in actually getting one, well from the first batch anyway..
