Has anyone heard of or tried putting an office suite on the gp2x?
Why would you want an Office suite for the GP2X?
You couldn't use OpenOffice but you could possibly use something like AbiWord. I don't think it is a silly idea at all. The GP2X has the potential to act as a complete (though very small) desktop machine if you can hook up a keyboard and mouse via USB, possibly with a printer and then install a word processor, spread sheet and web browser / email. If I can get the resolution higher via TV-out in the X server at some point, it would do quite nicely. Plus it has the advantage of being portable and fairly cheap (as well as all the games already available for it).How is this a ridiculous post? if its possible to hook any USB device to the gp2x via a hub, why couldn’t you hook a small USB keyboard like an Ipaq and use openoffice.

I think that all this will be possible if not by the end of this year, certainly fairly early next (though I can't promise anything).
