the term gamer is now being corrupted by 14 year olds that think they are computer hackers with made gaming skills. (one was in my history class with a Celeron laptop and thought he was god. I was about to bring my Dell Latitude C840 and start playing BF1942 with DC expansion while his poor computer couldn't open a word document) anyway.. a bunch of losers with ps2's and True Crime and Marc Ecko games think they are hot shit gamers. Gamer used to have almost a negative connotation but be positive to us. It was the people that played Duke Nukem 3D on a 486 in first grade.
Now to them im not a 'gamer' because I don't play xbox live and watch G4 (G4 is for gamers about the same amount as Lifetime is for gamers) G4 used to be god. It was called ZDTV (Ziff Davis) back when I watched it when I was a wee little gamer in '98 when I was 8. It had solid good programming with people like
Patrick Norton,
Leo Laporte, Martin Sargent etc. Then the name changed to TechTV and it was still awesome. But then around '04 they got some script kiddy
Kevin Rose on one of the main shows, 'The Screen Savers'. By then you could tell that it was going downhill. Leo Laporte (= god) was losing airtime on the network, as well as all of the other 'pure' members of the TechTV team. Finally it got horrible and a merger with G4 was announced. By this time all of the 'pure' guys were fired, and a bunch of pricks who though they were cool because they played the ancient system (OH MY GOD) the PLAYSTATION... 1!!! G4 is now shit that I won't even touch. R.I.P. ZDTV!
I'm not a gamer because I like classic games. I know what a classic game (and no its not a game that came out at PS2 launch) is. I'm not a gamer because I like uniqe systems. I'm not a gamer because I don't just care about graphics. I'd rather look out of a train window that play half of the 360 games. They have about the same playability, but the train window grpahics are so UBAR LEET!

I'm sorry. I go to high school so I have a lot of built up anger from seeing this sort of crap every day of my life.
