Until more info is given, I can't say much one way or the other. At least "N" is trying to finally taking steps forward to where the industry is moving, but once they finally give details, I'll assume they will take 2 steps back. Sadly, they disappoint me way more than they deliver now a days.

Personally, i bought a Pandora to escape Mobile gaming, as its way too cheasy (phun intended)

So color me uninterested :p

But businesswise its a logical move, and by making specific cheasy (phun again) games, they also protect their own hardware platform.

I also hereby officially claim the word cheasy, from now on known for cheesy easy money making, perfect description for mobile gaming.

I can't wait to play a game where I must match 3 Toads of the same color. I hope they'll make it so I have to connect to facebook and/or pay money to unlock other characters than Toad.
There is a reason, why there is no Super Toad Land.

Not quite the game you're looking for, but Pokemon Shuffle is basically that: matching pokemon to complete the puzzle, catch more pokemon, etc... limited number of moves, pay money for more moves and for power-ups to make winning easier.

To quote the late Terry Pratchett

“If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.”

Angry Toad, Metroid Defenders, Candy Peach, Yoshi Ninja and Flappy Kirby incoming?

Personally i would like to see some pinball games, we already had mario pinball and metroid pinball on the DS, they where fun.

Perhaps they could even port those titles to the nintendo store for the 3ds and WiiU after releasing such games on phones.

Yep, reading the text, it seems that Nintendo doesn't develop the games, they just sold their characters.

Nintendo games are good because Nintendo has great game designers.

It's not only the characters that make a game good (somehow I have to think about the Zeldas on CDI right now...)

Nintendo has loaned their characters out to second party developers many times now, sometimes to good effect. I wouldn't say that only Nintendo is capable of putting their franchises to good use. But I also have no idea what this company is capable of.

At this point, "N" themselves can barely turn out quality products, so I'm not to hopeful. When some of the big industry leaders have taken over games(SEGA, Namco, etc.), they have left much to be desired. I honestly just think this is another Iwata ploy to keep stock holders happy with a temporary band-aid and we'll see the same crap from this venture as the standard mobile fair of the past.

If "N" had announced this during the Wii's life cycle, I would have been more optimistic, but now Iwata just seems to float along with the tides and hope for the best. For God's sake, "N" doesn't even have a proper account system in place, how these guys are ever going to do anything revolutionary again is beyond me :(

Well, bye bye "Nintendo seal of quality" I guess. ^^"
“Article" said:
When the Official Nintendo Seal of Quality was used, the meaning of the seal was explained as follows:

This official seal is your assurance that Nintendo has approved the quality of this product. Always look for this seal when buying games and accessories to ensure complete compatibility with your <insert name of Nintendo system here>.

Basically this meant that the cartridge works in the named hardware, it had nothing to do with the written quality of the software.

According to Engadget, this is for newly developed games. It doesn't seem they will be porting their old stuff, just working with Dena to develop new games for mobile.  Time will tell  I guess

You guys reminded me of this:

I copied the cheat sheet out of Nintendo Power (or maybe I owned that issue, or maybe I found it elsewhere) so that I could always get them all.

5 games in the next 2 years? I hope an F-Zero type game happens to be one of them.

Anyhow, as much as I despise the guy...I really appreciate what Satoru Iwata reiterated to us Nintendo fans. Quote below.

if we were simply to port software that already has a track record on a dedicated game system, it would not match the play styles of smart devices, and the appropriate business models are different between the two, so we would not anticipate a great result.
