boredom?

If the GP2X display is better than the GP32 BLU (which in my experience on 2 devices is perfect) what the heck has all the whinging been about ? Why did someone waste their time writing a tweaker for it ?D.C. posted on Feb 27 2006 at 08:10 PM said:Current score 2:1

No flickering or interlacing. I would say all 3 devices have a similar brightness, but the GP2X looks less defined, colour looks slightly less intense. If I display the same image on all 3 the GP2X looks a tad duller, less vibrant. In fact my experience is almost the exact reversal of yours. It sounds like you have a dodgy BLU, as I cannot find fault with either of the GP32 displays.

I took a picture a while back which showed the same screen on the gp32 and the gp2x side by side and the gp2x looked considerabely brighter and more saturated. I'll see if I can find it.DaveC posted on Feb 28 2006 at 06:11 PM said:Mr.Jabberwocky posted on Feb 27 2006 at 07:55 PM said:As I said I have a BLU and a BLU+ and a GP2X. Take what you said remove the part about the interlace, and swap GP2X with BLU. Then you have a true statement. You must have a dodgy GP2X.
If you don't believe me I will have to do pictures to prove it. That is work
That gp2x image was taken with the original, 'too-bright' firmware, wasn't it?chris_r posted on Feb 28 2006 at 06:48 PM said:I took a picture a while back which showed the same screen on the gp32 and the gp2x side by side and the gp2x looked considerabely brighter and more saturated. Edit: Found it. This picture was my gp32 blu and my gp2x sitting side by side. It wasn't 2 seperate photos.

To be honest with you I'm not overly sure I remember. I think it might have been the original firmware (I can't remember when I upgraded) but even it that picture it shows a much brighter screen even if a little gamma-yiignotus posted on Mar 1 2006 at 12:16 AM said:That gp2x image was taken with the original, 'too-bright' firmware, wasn't it?
