Im about to buy a gp2x, would the the new stick be worth the wait?
Have you actually ever seen a BLU or BLU+ ? I have both and neither are dim or washed out. The GP2X display is not bad but it is not currently as good as either of the BLU's. (I say 'currently' because I am clinging to the rumour that it is down to the the software not the hardware, and will be fixed.)DaveC posted on Feb 27 2006 at 06:09 PM said:They said it was like the BLU+ and that screen was very dim and washed out compared to the GP2X current one.

yeah, im going to buy it now (woohoo!)Squidge posted on Feb 27 2006 at 07:07 PM said:The new stick will most likely be a new piece of plastic (the bit you stick your thumb on). There's plenty of alternatives around, so it depends on whether your going to like GPH's alternative, or wish to get one now and try DaveC's cap, or one of those PSP Analog Armour caps, which also seem pretty good.

I also have both. But the GP2X screen is much brighter and colorful then the BLU's. It would be even better then my PDA (ASUS MyPAL A632) if there was'nt sometimes some flickerMr.Jabberwocky posted on Feb 27 2006 at 06:56 PM said:Have you actually ever seen a BLU or BLU+ ? Why do you want to know it, I thought you already had a gp2x?
anyway, I have good news, I showed a friend of mine the gp2x and hes going to buy one too .
Another friend of mine already bought a gp32 because i had one, hehe.
As I said I have a BLU and a BLU+ and a GP2X. The brightness and colour saturation/black level are not an issue on the GP32's at all. No flickering or interlacing. I would say all 3 devices have a similar brightness, but the GP2X looks less defined, colour looks slightly less intense. If I display the same image on all 3 the GP2X looks a tad duller, less vibrant. In fact my experience is almost the exact reversal of yours. It sounds like you have a dodgy BLU, as I cannot find fault with either of the GP32 displays.DaveC posted on Feb 27 2006 at 07:00 PM said:I have a BLU. Compare with the same game running and side by side. I don't know how you can't see the difference, it is dramatic.Mr.Jabberwocky posted on Feb 27 2006 at 06:56 PM said:Have you actually ever seen a BLU or BLU+ ? My GP2X has a better screen than my BLU did.Mr.Jabberwocky posted on Feb 27 2006 at 08:55 PM said:As I said I have a BLU and a BLU+ and a GP2X. 3:1 actually . I must have a faulty GP2X although it does not look half as bad as some of the descriptions I have read on here. If the GP2X display is better than the GP32 BLU (which in my experience on 2 devices is perfect) what the heck has all the whinging been about ? Why did someone waste their time writing a tweaker for it ?D.C. posted on Feb 27 2006 at 08:10 PM said:Current score 2:1
