Please don't download this!

Sorry, I was just passing on some news. :(
Hopefully the proper firmware won't be long, and the bugs have been sorted out.

Hi Guys,
I will like to announce that the firmware that is in the Korean website
www.globalgph.co.kr it is not for the foreign user (EU/USA)
This firmware it is for the Korean.

The foreign firmware will be released next week.
I am really sorry for announcing late, as I am in the different dept. it is difficult to know what they are doing.

Once the new firmware is out I will let you know,

On the official Korean GPH website it’s available the update for GP2X Wiz firmware. In the coming days it will also be on the English site, but for now here is a translation changes on the fly:

Absolutely do not apply to the F100 and F200.

Attention: This is a complete flash. Backup your NAND if you have any valuable data on it!

After updating my SD card doesn't work anymore (the Wiz doesn't detect it). Did someone else have this issue?

does this fix tearing in any way?

The different refresh rate might make it less noticeable, for software that wasn't already changing the refresh rate. But there's nothing the firmware can do to fix tearing generally. SDL on the firmware already hides it, but it's also extremely slow.

We have to do something at the end of the update (like pressing a button)?

Because my wiz have a ... funny...

Here is the pic:

Looks like a screen rotation issue, picture is duplicated from left to right...

EDIT: Well, I waited more than enough, red bar was 100%, I turned it off, and everything is fine after re-calibrating, tearing looks to be almost gone, good point. ^^

EDIT2: I almost forgot, this is my first post, so hello everyone!

Hi!

No, the garbled picture is a known problem when updating from some firmware revisions. Just turn the Wiz off and on after waiting ca. 15 minutes, just to be sure...

So..... what does this update fix exactly?

Improvements/changed:

-Screen refresh now set to 120Hz: Reduced tearing and smoother scrolling in some applications (The same effect as the pollux_set application from notaz)
-Improved OpenGL ES library (ca. 8 fps more in GLquake, ca. 30 fps more in Jntetri at start and hopefully some bugs are fixed, not yet confirmed)
-ND Card support (DRM, you need this to use commercial SD based games like Propis)
-I noticed better SD card mounting when changing cards in the menu (Can somebody confirm this?)

Regressions:

-Asian characters in Flash application

Add another Regression: Some SD cards don't work anymore (Wiz doesn't detect them, says "Insert SD card").

Can you please specify brand, filesystem/ SD or SDHC and capacity?

CnMemory First Class Silver, FAT32, I think it's SDHC, 4 GB

Hmm, just quick checked 5 different cards with no problems here. And I looked at the Spain forum but no similar reports, yet.
I guess you tried reformatting the card already...
Perhaps really a rare bug, because GPH definitely modified the SD driver...
