As for vim, I'm more of a nano guy.....
So these exist ? I though the world was split in 2 : those who like vi and those who prefer emacs.
Puzzling, I guess I need to shift my world sight to something like : the world is splitted in 2 those who like vi and those who dont
Well, there's at least 1....
What's emacs.....just joking!....
I briefly tried to get into emacs a year ago....spent hours online reading about it, then printing out reference pages about it.....gave it a brief try and then said, "Yipes!..." and haven't touched it since....although, I was intrigued by Org-Mode....
Vi is OK, but I just found nano so much simpler and easier to use for basic stuff.....of course, YMMV.....
You should try vim...
I will give you a nice minimal ~/.vimrc that might be interesting (on this weekend)

Thanks!
Anytime. Some Tour for you.
Each module has usually many views (you get to another mode via pressing 'v' or 'V').

Notes:
(1) Tubes: There is also a module that allows to watch "You-toube" !
You do select the uTube, and into the popup window you can enter for instance:
pandora videos
and it prompts you a list or play all.
Beware that it checks if /usr/bin/mplayer2 is there, and it will use this one if present rather than /usr/bin/mplayer
(2) Answer:
Of courses, you can read and open : PDFs, HTML/html, PHP, ...
It has an integrated nPager or you can config the nPager to use other external programs such as Elinks, pdfncurses viewer (<-- which I dont know any, anyhow),...
(3) The Windows Manager, called nOS does also support or not using screen if you desire/need.
(4) nClock module:
- If you press on 'd', it will prompt you some messages
- If you press on 'w', you get the weather forecast, refreshed regularly
- if you press on 'b', you get the Bloomberg news
- if you press on 'm', you get the Market Data from Bloomberg and other various sites.
(5) The Agenda is really one of the most complex module. Give a try to the keys: y, u, i, o, p, ...
With it you will never miss a business trip, meeting, important phone call,... .
(And much more to come in the 2.6 release, always for finances ...!!! )
Enjoy !!
