All of this is really unproductive. If someone wants to work on N64 emulation they will, if they don't then they won't. It's already widely known that everyone wants it. No amount of polls or bounties (short of several thousand dollars) is going to change this.

I just saw the other thread and the op said he didn't know how to make a poll for his topic. So I thought I would.

No, it's not productive, but it's fun to see the N64 fans unite in one poll.

Even though I voted for the "*cry*" option, I have to agree with Exophase wholeheartedly here. I think he's right. Except I think that bounties might actually have some weight to them, just not much.

I don't understand how you can not want a particular system emulated.

Well, some systems are just not as popular as others.

For example, I personally don't care too much about Atari 2600 emulation, even though I understand that a lot of other people do.

There is no harm done whatsoever if a system is emulated weather you care or not about it! What strange logic I hear these days :p

I don't care about PS1 emulation but I'd still want it emulated for the sake of more variety and choice, if and when I do get interested in it later on. :p

This poll is like politics.

Well, it's a little bit like this, isn't it? Obviously everyone benefits in some way no matter which of those games is made, but the author wants to know which game sounds most appealing to people.

But yes, of course I realize that coders usually work on things because they find them interesting.

well, if there is an incredibly talented emulator-coder that would let us decide if he works on a dreamcast-, saturn- or n64-emu, I'd take them in this order. Sorry, I reallly tried to get into nintendo-games but found none of them interesting enough to reveal the decision i made when i had to decide between snes and genesis: I'm a 100% sega fanboy.
My nephew begged for a nintendo ds and got one. Shortly before my sister decided to buy the ds, I got him a 20$ genesis-portable with 20 games pre-installed, so he got 2 handhelds for christmas. Guess what he plays all the time? Yes, Sonic & Knuckles :p We went to a video-rental-store and rented about 20 games just to find out they all sucked. The DS will be out on ebay soon. Anyone interested? :p
Pretty much the same applies to n64 for me, only really fun game I ever played on it was conkers bad fur day. I know there are several fanboys out there, probably about 20x more Nintendo-fanboys then Sega-fanboys, but that's not relevant here,
Anyway, emulation isn't really as interesting as everyone makes it here. The indy- and opensource-games are the interesting candidates. Give me a handheld with proper ports of teeworlds, supertuxkart, glest, ultrastar (any of those, preferable dx), warzone 2100, hedgewars, egoboo, paintown, any quakeX-based shooter and a genesis-emu, and I'm totally happy. add lugaru, world of goo, braid, caster, lemmingballz, fez and others of that kind, and you'll have to take the pandora from my cold dead hands.

You make a good point conso, but what game do you think hedgewars is based off of? (Worms Armageddon N64) If your interested in that, then maybe you havent explored enough on the nintendo 64. There are a few sleepers.

That's a little specific, but worms armageddon is more a psx-game, isn't it? Anyway, if I had to decide beween worms armageddon (I played it for weeks on my dreamcast with friends and love it) and hedgewars, I'd take hedgewars. Even if it's only for it's networking-capabilities. Plus it will take enormously less time to port hedgewars then making a proper n64-emulator ;)

There's a huge difference between not wanting something, and wanting not-something. Someone offers you pie, you say "no thanks, I don't want pie, but maybe someone else would like some". Someone offers you total planetary destruction and you shoot them in the face screaming "DO NOT WANT!"

Second. I respect the fact that you prefer the dreamcast over the N64, but it would still be an incredibly bad decision to choose it over the N64. Apparently you have been playing all the wrong games or whatever. The point is, dreamcast emulation would be slow and take quite a while to get to run properly, if at all. That being said, a nullDC port is planned.
