No but I think 166 might be not very good but concerning 200 Mhz, there is no doubt about that for me, that's all.evil_king posted on Jul 26 2004 at 05:20 PM said:Drumaster, earlier on in the thread you said that 166mhz is fine but 200mhz is not. Why? They are both over your recommended clock of 66mhz so whats the difference? Is it because you can only do 166mhz, then it becomes ok, but any more and it "could really damage the unit".
To ste_167: Find the closest place that does the mod (I think there is one in the US, the UK and spain....I'm not sure). Find out the price and if it's not too much do it, you won't regret it.
I would like to believe that, but where did you read this?!mastaboog749 posted on Jul 26 2004 at 05:23 PM said:The ARM9 processor can handle 200mhz without doing damage to it. It just drains the batterylife. If that a problem get Lithium Ion batteries. They are rechargeable and last longer.
We don't know the same developpers, that's all but respect my opinion.mastaboog749 posted on Jul 26 2004 at 05:31 PM said:I have never heard of a developer say it was dangerouse to go to 200mhz. They said that they would like to make there games/emulators use the 200mhz but they probably wont because alot of people can't achieve 200mhz
Yes, but your opinion is useless if you don't explain yourself. What you say might be all true, overclocking your gp32 will lead to global warming, gbax is in league with the devil. But unless you explain yourself fully your opinion will be dismissed and you might as well not have bothered. So far I don't argree with any of your opnions though (no surprise there ).Drumaster posted on Jul 26 2004 at 05:23 PM said:I just said my opinion, so what?!
i do, but only as long as you dont "sell" your opinion as the ultimate truth.respect my opinion
Why are you talkin' about GBAX here?! Are you crazy?! :blink:evil_king posted on Jul 26 2004 at 05:49 PM said:Yes, but your opinion is useless if you don't explain yourself. You're wrong, I don't sell anything, how can you say that?! :blink:Vimacs posted on Jul 26 2004 at 05:52 PM said:i do, but only as long as you dont "sell" your opinion as the ultimate truth.respect my opinion

Thank you guy.finty101 posted on Jul 26 2004 at 05:55 PM said:Ok, so as far as I can see Drumaster is keeping away from flameing here, but some people are trying to start a flame war. Stop. Please.
I personaly think 200Mhz could do damage, but that wont stop me going that high
Yes you do have the right to. I agree with finty101 people are trying to start a flame war. It was that idiot who called drumaster a moron that started it.Drumaster posted on Jul 26 2004 at 05:57 PM said:..... but I don't have the right to... <_<
Your words are sensible.timeslip posted on Jul 26 2004 at 06:16 PM said:Firstly Leave Off the Drummaster bashing - Neither of you are able to offer any proof as to whether overclocking can fry your gp32 until someone does it.
Overclocking CAN do serious damage - Just ask my PC
Yeah, I remember I few years ago when I turned on my pc without ANYTHING on my sleek, new, top of the line Athlon 1.4ghz cpu. Ahhh those were the days (roasted, crispy days), now when my fan stops turning on my Athlon64 the computer crashes . But I've lost track of the topic.....Ah yes I was going say that this is a relatively slow cpu we're talking about. 300mhz would be the absolute limit (an estimate) before we smell the heat and even then it would crash long before we reach that speed. I suppose leaving it crashed for a few days might cause some problems, but the battery would run out long before that. I'll keep overclocking as far as possible, not sure I care whether my gp32 blows up or not, in another six-eight months I'll be looking at the next generation of handhelds for my portable gaming fix. I've been overclocking my gp32 for a year and a half now at increasing speeds. An extra 20-30mhz isn't going to reduce its life by that much.timeslip posted on Jul 26 2004 at 06:16 PM said:Overclocking CAN do serious damage - Just ask my PC
