I just found the wonderful Internet Archives Old Movies DB, and all of their downloads are MPEG4 (.mp4) files.

I am aware of the Guide for encoding Xvid video for the GP32, but I have no way to convert the .mp4 fiels into a format that VirtualDub will recognize. All the converters I saw are commercial, and either have a big ugly watermark or only convert 5 minutes of footage. I tried AVS Video Converter, but besides the huge watermark, its output crashes VirtualDub.

I'd really like to watch some old horror classics on my GP32, any help would be appreciated!

I do have the MPEG4 codec, I have Quicktime installed and can view MPEG-4 .mp4 files. But VirtualDub cannot open files of the .mp4 type.

They have a few different formats; I downloaded "Things To Come" in MPEG, and converted it to XVID using Super© converter. Works perfectly :)

Its easy to use and fast too. I use it a lot for quick conversions when I don't need the hastle of script files etc...

This life sucks. I followed GPNewbie's guide to encode video for the bugger, but with no luck. The 'estimated' project size is well over 128MBs, despite following the math formula to get an acceptable size. Also, I downloaded the Xvid codec specified in the guide, but it doesn't have all the configuration tabs that are present in the guide's screenshots, and thus I missed on lots of settings. Did anyone here get movies running on the GP32, and if so, how?

This other guide managed to help me get a 30 second video running on my GP32 with DivX 4.12, but full-length video files are outputted too large :(

EDIT: I successfully encoded a 1:30h movie with DivX 4.12, 86 megs, looks and sounds very nice. The GP32 is growing on me every day :D
