Mp3 Recommend-you-do!

I would say go with the iPod.
I've had 4 mp3 players,
one was a flash player that was extremly small cheap and worked really well but I took it kating with me one time and fell on it so now the headphone jack is fucked (still works well as a thumb drive though!)

next was a 2 gb harddrive player that my mom got me for christmas(meaning it was probably really cheap) and the hard drive died after about a month's worth of use.

third was a 20 gb plyer I bought off of ebay(brand new) worked ok but was REALLY slow and eventually died because it over-charged itself and killed the battery.

Finally was a 6gb iPod mini that I've had for 7 months with absolutly NO problems at all.

Although I have 5 1/2 gigs of music so I may have to buy myself a 20gb iPod sometime in the future

I agree, ipods are the best because they are the best (!!!!)

Creative's are okay. My old 20 gig player is as good today as it was then.

But the whole ipod thing has to be taken into account, the scroll wheel is beautiful to use, the machine is beautifully designed. They are well built (as long as you use a good pouch!), the op system is intuative to use and quick (a real factor in my Archos jukebox!), the sound is great.

Then there is I-tunes. IMO it's the simplest and most satisfying software to use for your mp3s. And buying albums from I-tunes is easy and cheap (for those of us that STILL buy our music, and don't steal it...).

Yes, other manufacturers have their fans, but I have used a lot of them, and I would really reccomemnd ipods every time. Never had a rio karma though...

I'm such an Ipod fanboy! It just does everything better.

except play .ogg or any other codec, or direct record or have a decent remote or have decent battery life or particularly good customer service etc. etc.

Yup... Ipod is good for music, if you want extra functions such as 3rd party codec support, lower price etc etc buy something else

i wouldn't say superb

its well known that creative, rio and maybe a few others use a far better sound processing chip than the one found in the ipod.

True dat...

Second day of missing it being delivered, despite the fact my mum said she would wait in all day.

Going to your boyfriends and sitting in the back garden whilst leaving a note on the door saying your there doesent work... ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR AT THE BACK OF THE FUCKING HOUSE.

She is going to pick it up later, but im going out tonight and have been looking forward to getting this all day.
