I really don't understand him. He seemed to be a knowledgable guy at first glance but then he turned out to be an absolute douchebag. How did that happen? In the time while I was gone, he must have swallowed some evil mutagene or something.
I don't know, he is very knowledgable and intelligent.

Probably just got fed up and jaded by the way GPH has treated us. The MK1 sticks were set up like crap. GPH went through all the trouble to re-design the motherboard entirely to fix the headphones and rotate the stick and they couldn't be bothered to fix any of the dozens of other things wrong with it. The firmwares were pretty bad for a year and still each new one is a crapshoot.

I can understand his feelings, but they are pretty strong if he feels he has to hang around bashing the console.

If someone doesn't get the USB and Dpad figured out at a reasonable price I am probably leaving again (not angrily, just waiting around for some proper support). Devs don't have the USB (see my sig, it should be available for $20-30 from the webshops, BAD GPH!!), so most of the stuff I want to use won't work with the USB handheld keyboard or my Targus mini-mouse, or my PS1 USB adaptor (picodrive does :)).

I would be making SNES with USB over EXT (how sweet would SNES pads be hooked to the GP?), and converting the handheld USB and generally pimping USB wares right now if it worked, but I can't even make capital letters appear in sterm, the Shift key doesn't work. Kudos to sterm for letting me type at all.

I honestly want the console to succeed, but I can't play Vektar or Payback or Descent or Descent ][ without my keyboard or joypad (forget internal GP2X mods for a second, I wouldn't even mind the crap stick if I could get a work-around simply).

My MK1 stick was bad. So bad it didn't work! Well, not all the time which rendered it useless!

But my D-Pad mod. Did I mention about my d-pad mod...?

It depends, the MK1 stick was rubbish. I had a real hard time getting the damn thing to move in the direction I wanted to. The new setup is a bit better, it is useable.

I guess I didn't take the mk1 into consideration...

I finished mario world (with an MK2 stick) and noticed no issues at all.

Wow dave, just saw your dpad mod, that's looking pretty sexy.

I don't have any problems with the stick, but i may have to invent some to warrant getting that mod on my 2x...

Same here.

Add Super Mario Bros 1 and 3 to the finished list for me.

Stick isn't perfect, but it didn't make the Mario games any harder for me.

Using Craig's replacement cap I've had no issues with my MK1 stick at all. The original cap did make it pretty unusable though.

I can manage Mario, but it isn't very fun, because I keep falling in pits due to not being able to turn around quickly enough - on the NES I can do it fine.

Hold on, I am not whinging. And I am not "getting used to it". I have an abused MK1, with the DaveC cap on it. The cap right now is too high up, too slippery, and my stick popped out soon after I got it.

It is nearly unusable. Practically mpossible to control left to right, up and down.

I have my own caps, but due to painting my room I don't know which box they are in.
