Nobody has waited for units to ship from Ithic.com. I don't do preorders.^ no.
but, regarding shipping the new unit, I would just be afraid I send that in and then be on wait for 3 years
Now, how would shipping in my unit work? Would I be responsible for that?
I just purchased a 1ghz unit from ithic.com and everything went smoothly. Unit was packaged correctly for shipping, all items were included, and nothing was damaged. I ordered it late in the evening of Dec 6th and recieved it in the afternoon on Dec 13th. I live in Alaska, so if you're in the lower 48 you'd probably get it faster.
I have to say that I'm a bit tempted by the cases. Apart from their being extra room in the Underwater Kinetics boxes, is there any other reason to get one over the Pelican? Also, how much bulk does the case add to the unit, roughly?^
Please don't advertise tablets in this thread. We are talking about the Open Pandora here, not alternatives minus control.
Actually it would be "*nux box". iPad is spelled as such. US college students don't know what "cannabis" is Per se, however, pot, herb, ganja, smoke, Mary Jane, 420, reefer, grass, tea, or marijuana would be much better understood by today's US college age population.Well if they are studying computer science they might appreciate a *nix type box in their pocket. And it's better than blowing their money on an Ipad or cannabis or some other consumerist junk. Do they still teach unix/bsd nowadays?
Thanks, that's good to know. I'll have to think about it for a bit, especially since I don't know where I'm going, but it does sound like the Ultrabox is going to be the way to go, if for no other reason than having the option of throwing in any extra SD cards if I have to for some reason.^
Basically it comes down to what do you want to have with your Pandora in its box. The Pelican only has room for the Pandora itself, and a few of the smaller microfiber cloths I sell. Maybe a set of earbuds. The Ultrabox 308 while slightly bigger than the Pelican has extra room in the lid for a battery and a USB charging cable, and some earbuds. If you want the full on Pandora power cord with you, with wall plug, then you'll need a Ultrabox 408.
Regarding bulk, the Pelican case can fit in a large cargo pocket or hoodie pocket, the Ultrabox 308 not so much there, but it doesn't take up much more space overall, and for the extra that it carries, I think it is worth the sacrifice. Pelican has also moved some of their production to China whereas the Underwater Kinetics stuff is still US made. Some people could care less about that.
Well I just googled for linux and university and these came up with linux system programming on the first page. Email to these educators might get the pandora in some student hands.I would bet they still teach BSD at the University of California in Berkeley.
Thanks. PSU is one of my Alma mater. Contacting these folks is a good idea versus the bookstores.Well I just googled for linux and university and these came up with linux system programming on the first page.
