If You Want A Pandora

There've been so many people say "just wait till the Chinese clone this. It'll be cheaper and better!" And my response is "how many Chinese clones do you know that are superior to the original?"
I've yet to get a reply :p
Meizu basically clones Apple products, and many of their mp3 players are considered superior by audiophiles.

LOL there are loads of clones out here in Thailand, presumably they come straight over from China. The most intriguing one I saw last time I came over here was "Motion Game Plus System" (or some such catchy name). A Wii-alike with what appeared to be Megadrive games running in an emulator. I really wanted to have a go to see how the controls worked but unfortunately I couldn't because the person who ran that part of the shop was off sick :(

Sure it would have been top-class entertainment, of sorts!

my attempted comedic post was in reply to the question about the number of Chinese clones that where superior to the original, sort of political/geek joke, it prolly works better if like the poster you have imbibed of a dozen or so seasonal drinks before posting/reading it, try it and let me know if it works for you then! ;)

edit: just noticed post above, the "motion plus game system" (or something VERY similar) was sold in "The Works" (a discount store) a few months ago at £29 a time. I was tempted to buy one for the LOL's, also seen a poor Wii copy on the Saturday market, from the games descriptions on the package it looks like one of those multi-game controllers that's been re-boxed to look like a Wii with a hundred simple games pre-loaded in rom.

If he really did pre-order 50 pandoras since the start then good for him. Doing so has helped finance the project and I don't think a lot of people at that time would have been able to risk paying and losing the price of 50 pandoras.

If it is legit then it looks quite tempting for anyone not already preordered and if there are no longer any slots free. You're getting it for less than what OP are currently charging and most likely you're getting an early spot in the queue as he must have preordered when they were £200+vat.

Actually he didn't order yet.
I ask him about how many bought.
Here is his answer.
"Hi, 4000 have been made and been sold so far, I'll be getting them as soon as the new batch is ready so quite soon, early next year, if not receved by 30/03/10, I'm giving a full Money Back, but can't see that happening."
This is rediculous.

In other words, it's a scam. Never let anyone hold your money longer than the days paypal/ebay allows for dispute or refund.

right  , so he's gonna sell em for less than retail  , then take the paypal/ebay hits on top  , right! ;) , time to nuke him from orbit I think, it's the only way to be sure

That'd be pretty much everybody here then.

I'm not aware of such a large order, but I'll check up on it.
And your result (of checking)?
It's been a while, but it has also been christmas season and business hours are out. But this is still a pressing need to be verified. The price is way too low. If it was like 400 pounds, it would be more believable(for some reason)

I reported it on the 26.
This is what I wrote:
The item does not exist. The Open Pandora console is still in prototype state and not available.
The automatic reply was:
Thank you for letting us know about a listing or seller you would like
us to investigate for fraudulent activity. We are very concerned about
this type of activity and we will review your report as soon as
possible, usually within 24 hours.
I dunno if anyone is working on it considering we are between Christmas and New Year, though.

It all seems like it was planned to be at this time where people were on holiday and other reports would gather up and it would take longer to get to this fraud

Total scam.
If someone had actually ordered 40 units from the first batch, and wanted to cash in on Ebay, they would post them up one at a time at auction after the first batch had officially sold out.
I would guess $600 US selling prices would ensue.

There was mention of some people trying to preorder as many as 60 units, in the weeks before preorders began.
The listing is still up, I'd bet this is either somebody gambling that the '2nd batch' will be quicker than reported, or they will finally receive their bulk order in time!
