How will you promote your PANDORA?

I have about 10 people that are thinking about this already but are waiting to see mine first.

Im gonna talk the ears of anyone within range.. which i am already doing even though it has not arrived yet, My girlfriend, family and most of my friends are already tired of me for the exact same reason. :p

I had this idea of brewing some variant of open cola, then using anything that comes out of my attempt (and doesn't kill/poison anyone) to promote the pandora.

But getting the ingridiants for something like open cola is quite a bother, so i guess by chance i'll just sit and play it at places where lots of potentially interested people might show up.

I'm a longtime member on Icrontic.com, so I think I'll post a review there when I get mine. I'll probably find myself explaining it at a lot of coffee shops and around campus, too. It's too bad that a lot of our classroom projectors don't have easily accessible S-video ports, but I'm still planning to present PowerPoints with it whenever possible.

I'm hoping to get it before a conference I'm going to in July. The conference is in Paris, and I'm hoping to visit some universities in England and Switzerland while I'm across the pond. Not only would having the Pandora let me travel way lighter without my heavy 15" laptop, but I'd get a chance to show it off to all sorts of geeky folks. Here's hoping :)

what are your pandora promoting strategies?

Heh! You're just like me. I used to promote my (now rare) white A320 Dingoo too. Now I do it with my OpenPandora.

Actualy, at the begining of the year I (and my girl) traveled to sunny beaches and I took it with me. There is a lot of photos that I shoted with the OP by the pool, by the beach sand, near a hammock, etc.

Oh, and I lent it to my (hot) girlfriend and took some pics while she was reading her mail :D Later, I saw that she changed her facebook photo to a photo of her liying at a hammock using the Pandora! Cool!!! B)

I like to show people that a Pandora is a thing to me, and it could be a thing for them. I hate when people force me to think I need something, because some "specialist" said or it is a best-seling gadget. That's stupid! Only I can judge what is better or useful for me.

For example: I don't need smartphones or iphones (you may need, vive la différence). I just need a simple, dumb phone. That calls, answers and send text messages. No camera, no mp3/mp4 playing, no 3G, no video, no email, no internet, no touch screen, no GPS, no wi-fi, no accelerometer, no extra something that I can use with other device, just 0-9 buttons and some controls like call and hang.

But the good simple phones are disapearing from the market, because someone thinks I will buy an i/smartphone because my friend or my boss bought one or the newspaper told me to. Someday I will be forced to buy a smart(and expesive)phone, that have a powerful processor that could land a ship on the moon and do heavy fluid simulation, only to call my mom.

+1

Long live the Motorola Razr!! My Dad even gave me his old Iphone, but I just use it as an MP3 player :) .

i disagree here. A cheapo Nokia (i got a C6) is very useful for tethering (usb and bluetooth) and acting as an extra storage device. Also, having a phone always ready to capture pics and vids or listen to the radio on the go is a plus for myself.

Just to let it clear: I see no problem anyone need or have a super functional phone (which is less phone than any other thing :D )

I just think it is stupid to think that everybody will need one, now that they are avaliable. If everybody needs a superphone, nobody will produce simple phones!

And superphones are much more than phones. First, they're expensier. Second, bulkier. So, I am forced to buy a tank to kill a ant. If you like killing elephants, ok to me (well not ok, I mean no harm to animal, but I hope you understand the analogy).

And now the "great press" in Brazil is saying that tablets (read ipads) are going to replace laptops!!!

Tablets may be good for ebook reading and quick internet browsing better than laptops, but never for writing a text or programming. More devices is good for freedom of choice.

Yes, but you have to admit that the quality of these is very often shit.

Until recently I also had a very simple one, now not that simple anymore, I wanted GPS to try to use it on my Pandora.

most peeps see the panda in action and ask "wtf is that?" - when i explain it to them and show them they want one - then i tell them the price and they go "i might as well get a [insert commercial handheld system here]" - it's a fact that most just don't get it.

anyway answering the OP - I will making a high quality 30sec-60sec ad for the Panda soon and make it avail for download so when someone asks you can just play the video LOL i'll start a thread when i am ready to produce it - which will be very soon - to get some ideas....heck i might start the thread now :)

I play it at work and in front of mates and on trips. It's got a lot of attention , already got a mate who's saving up for one.
