Gp32 BLU
Because of the battery life (!),
The VAST amount of games available (thousands).
Bacause of the availability of OPTIMIZED emu's.
and because of its ability to reach (almost) gp2x clockspeeds.

Oh, and did i mention the battery life? (mastersystem @ fs1 @ 33mhz anyone?)

Have to admit I like the battery life :)
That and theres tonnes of scheisse (In a good way) for the little system

I prefer GP32 because it's the "original", and it has more glamour and i have spend more time with it. But gp2x is supposed to be the future ... so loving the gp32 more is just due to i did spend more time with gp32 :D

I still ove my GP32 but I must say its been sitting on the shelf quite a bit lately with the new arrival of my PSP.

Do you think its worth getting a GP2X? I have a GP32, PSP and DS.

How good is the PS1 emulation on the 2X? Thats what I would most probably use it for mostly.

Stevo.

Just like anything...
The GP32 was (and still is) great, but the GP2X is better.
It'e emulators have reached the point where most of them are better than the GP32 versions. Mame2x is a good example. There are games that run perfectly now which ran way too slow on the GP32 version (Gauntlet is one example).

I still love my little white GP32, but the GP2X is really great these days!

don't have a Gp2x, i'm still happy with my FLU, since I play mostly NES and Genesis games anyway.

The deciding factor for me to purchase a GP2x is going to be F-day. If and when it ever happens, it's been like 2 years, but i'm still holding out hope. If the emulators released for the GP32 are not good, like the Wonderswan or Neo Geo pocket, then i will probably upgrade. But if they are good, playable at frameskip 0-1, sound optional, then i will have no reason to buy a Gp2x.

Still love the GP32 because of:

-better battery life
-better emus (okay, DrMD IS better on GP2X. And SquidgeSNES is just great!)
-better musicplayer (SVorbis roxx!!)
-way better joystick!!

Okay, some emotions are envolved, too... But I hope, this night the GP2X could catch up... :)

I have both, GP32 NLU (YES the classic one!) and the GP2x and i prefer the gp2x nowadays simply because of the much better screen and the better snes emu :)

Yeah the GP32 has a much better stick, but hey, gp2x is the future! (btw ive just ordered the davec joystick from gp2x.de, so that problem is gone soon :) )

GP32 is great and has a beautiful base of very usable emulators.
On the other hand, GP2X has captured most of the developers and it has a better potential for emulation because of the speed and amount of memory. The display has better image, but GP32 does not have the annoying interlacing and has almost no scanlines (talking about BLU+). And the joystick is way better than the one of the GP2X even with DaveC's cap. Whenever I use the GP32 after using the GP2X, I feel like a master of precision with the cool, clicky joy :)

As much as I love my GP2X, I have to say right now the GP32 is still very superior simply because it sufferes fewer problems than the 2X. Stick issues, 2 hour battery life, FW upgrades that break as much as they fix, and the more complicated linux environment that revives the whole argument over source code everytime there's an upgrade.

The potential is there for an awesome device but for every good thing that comes a long in the GP2X (better divx, better emulation trough more powerful hardware, more buttons, TV out, better storage medium) there's always something killing the buzz, The GP32 never had that problem, it just "worked" and did so without fuss.

Don't have a GP2X yet, and I kind of don't want one till all the bugs are worked out. GPH says they will be addressing the joystick problem, and the firmware should be up to par eventually. Until then, though, I'm sticking with my BLU, and I'm perfectly happy with that.

I also prefer the GP32 for the reasons already stated.

I do initially find it hard to go back to my GP32 though because my FLU screen is nowhere near as good as the GP2x screen. Can anyone tell me how the BLU-GP32 screen compares with a GP2X screen? I am considering buying a BLU GP32.

Its the very same screen (for BLU+ that is)

Haven't got a GP2X already; I'll wait for the official release (if I'll buy one). First I have some other more important things to buy (Acer 3004WTMI, spare Zodiac 2... :p ).

Voted GP32.

Mmmmm doesn't look like the results are reflecting the comments if you see what I mean.

Any GP2x owners that don't have GP32s clicking by any chance ;)

I personally didn't vote as I don't have a GP2x. It's still yet to entice me away from my GP32.

Once SNES can play chrono trigger glitch and transparency problem free I will definately get one.

Same goes for if PS1 becomes playable.
