Homebrew Stuff!

Yes, I have been thinking about the incredible machine since yesterday, I'd love to play it on my GP2X! But if you wanna do a homebrew project rather than a port, anything surreal please. ;) I haven't seen any games with melty clocks or giant eyeballs on the 2x yet.

What was this GBA game called again where you have to navigate a rotating stick though a maze?
That is a really unique idea and hasn't been cloned yet as far as I know.

I'd have to second this idea. Kuru Kuru Kururin would probably even play well with the GP2x's diagonally biased joystick.

I would love to see a Settlers clone (the original version, no scenarios just a big map to build on and conquer).

we need one of those doll dress-up programs.
there's not nearly enough 'mature fun' on this system yet, and everybody has the need to undress cartoon caracters at some point.

I'm working on a theory as to why it's necessary, and so far it's shaping up to read: sick+lame=fun

the theory works really well when tested on GTA games, but it needs further testing.

How about a port of Elite the new kind? Or descent?

As for a new game I always think of a boulderdash clone with suped up graphics and sound. It is an action puzzler that seems like good game design to me. It has elements of puzzle and arcade action blended nicely. If you needed someone to do those "suped up graphics" I would help with it.

I would loove a space combat simulation, there are too few of them nowadays.

You mean like Elite the new kind?

i like single screen games a lot.
i mean games like tetris, boxxle (soukoban) or even more complex ones like oxyd or bolo (atari st).

single screen games may also be easier to code (and require less graphics) but the tricky part is to create a concept that is addictive and fun ;)

edit: a pinball (engine) would also be great.

Nah, more like Wing commander or Freespace. Elite was before my time and i think it would be more difficult to make a trading/combat space sim like elite or privateer, beause it´s much work to create a whole "universe" than just to create small, action- packed levels.
Also the first version could have just few levels and get expanded, so we can see the results faster.
