Help with TV out cable settings

Thank you very much for your help, Asmo. I tried again today and the Pandora is now smiling at me from the screen.

Just a quick info:

Amiga and C64 usually run with 50Hz, so use PAL here for smooth scrolling.

Sad, TV out doesn't seems to work on my Commodore 1084S monitor.

I have a DB9 to RGB SCART adapter, when I plug my Coleco etc it works perfectly..

But when I use the:  Pandora Cable  (SVideo) > Scart adapter      Scart > DB9 1084S

I have a kind of red monochrome ugly pic.

While if I try this chain on my LCD TV Scart, it's working properly (even in 320x240).

Is there a RGB cable  for the Pandora ?

Or a better way to convert Svideo to Scart than this adapter : http://www.telly-leads.co.uk/images/scarta1.jpg

The Pandora only outputs S-Video or Composite (switchable in settings, not both at once) and the 1084s only takes RGB through it's 9pin port. The 1084s will take composite signals through it's RCA (Phono) connectors - there are usually two beside the 9pin port, one for luminance one for chrominance, but there's a 'CVBS/LCA' switch (location depends on model) that changes the input to composite on one of those RCA connections. The Yellow Pandora TV cable carries the composite signal (assuming it's enabled in settings).

It is possible to connect S-Video to those two RCA jacks, but you'll need to butcher a spare S-Video cable:

I'm only guessing, but your LCD TV will probably be getting the S-Video signal (or composite) correctly, as it's designed to, whereas the 1084s is only supposed to accept RGB over it's DB9 port so it's not seeing the signal properly, hence only one colour.

No, no RGB is output from the Pandora.

That SCART converter doesn't change S-Video to RGB, it just allows S-Video to be connected to a Scart port - Scart inputs on TVs were eventually adapted to take S-Video (many don't, and some TVs only have S-Video input on one port). If your TV doesn't have an S-Video input but does take it via Scart, such an adapter is no better or worse than any other, but none will be of any use for RGB.

Ok, Thanks, useful information there.

I made the cable, but I think the TTL switch (SK4) must be off to use S-Video RCA panel. and I can't do this at the moment because the SK4 switch from my monitor is dead and I have soldered it like if is pushed. (waiting for a switch replacement). :)

So I will try my cable once the TTL switch is back :)
